The media want him because he is always good with them. They faun over him and he gives them juicy titbits. I would say the most controversial part of Pearce's appointment is because his brother is a senior member of the BNP. This should not effect things because he and his brother are different people but the media have been using the brother excuse to oust Terry because Rio is Anton's brother.

I can see where your going with this and have changed the statement to read 'Guilty of racist comments in 1994' But you see where I'm coming from though? His comments were in the past but they were still racist comments and in the context of the story he was racist and the F.A. condones working with racists when it suits them?

Many journalists like to think they are kingmakers. They like to believe that their campaign can force the decision on who gets the job. Then after his first mistake, they'll turn against him and eventually hound him out.
It's how these sad, pointless people justify their existence.

Just because the media want to gorge upon yet another sensational non-story doesn't mean that we have to help them on their way. It merely identifies a number of things:

The media are self serving hypocrites

    The FA are little better

None of this will help change the truth about the Suarez case

If he's found guilty as Suarez has been I will.

GUILTY and no appeal because he knows he was.

The FA is not a court of law.

I knind of get the feeling you're a little bit bitter for some reason - JT WILL be found guilty - By a true court of law. Suarez admitted using the word Negro...How why am I bothering to go through all this with someone who supports Chelsea - We have been slammed for supporting Suarez, not because we agree with the fact he used a racial term but because, but because it would appear Evra 'slightly' exaggerated the whole incident and put Suarez on trial by media by going to a French media outfit - Ergo, ensuring Suarez had no chance of a fair trial - Can you explain the reasoning behind supporting JT when he CLEARLY used racist and offensive language towards Anton Ferdinand?

Give it a rest you bellend. Terry is up for trial in court, if he is found guilty it will be by a judge. Suarez, on the other hand, was found "guilty" buy a bias panel or pricks from the FA who "on the balance of probability" thought he made a racist comment. The two don't compare. Believe me, if Suarez had been found guilty in court none of us would be supporting him.

Because in Law, it is not the intent of the speaker that is involved, it is in how the comment is received that determines whether the comment is racist.

Is that true St? Because if it is, the law is an even bigger ass than I hitherto imagined.

I'm not sure where you studied law SJRL but according to your argument a perfectly innocent comment could be taken to be racist if someone did not like it - I am not sure that would stand up in court

A couple of Evra's comments were also a little bit naughty.

Mr Suárez's evidence was that simultaneously with the blowing of the whistle, Mr Evra said to him "Don't touch me, "South American".

Mr Evra said that he is not exactly fluent in Spanish but that he can easily converse in Spanish. For Mr Suárez Spanish is his native language as a Uruguayan. Mr Evra told us that he began the conversation by saying "Concha de tu hermana". Mr Evra's evidence was that this is a phrase used in Spanish like when you say "****ing hell" in English, but the literal translation is "your sister's pussy". Mr Suárez did not hear Mr Evra say this.

    Exactly.
    First Suarez said nothing
    Then Suarez said negrito
    Then it was negro
    etc etc etc

    Excuses.

I was calling into question the idea that intent is not relevant. If you think I was agreeing with you you are sadly mistaken, quite the opposite. Suarez's intent is crucial, if no offense is intended none should be taken. Of course, sometimes someone says something that is insensitive, and then it's in order to point it out to them so they won't say it again, but that's all.
You saying Suarez is a racist is illiterate and plain wrong- but I don't expect you to understand this.

Honestly? You lot have done no favours at all by parading around supporting Suarez like some sort of twisted cult. You should take the ban on the chin and get on with it! Kenny had no right coming out and saying 'Suarez shouldn't have been banned' it makes this thing look a whole lot worse on Liverpool.

The ban is now over, get on with it!
