QPR player shock exit By Paul WarburtonFeb 10 2012 Add a comment Recommend Recommended (2)inShare.0 1 Keiron Dyer Image 1 QPR are poised to terminate Kieron Dyerâs contract â despite earlier assurances they would keep the stricken defender until the end of the season. The former England international lasted just three minutes before hobbling off with a foot injury in opening game of the season against Bolton. A reserve game against Spurs in December aggravated the problem and there was a clause in the 33-year-oldâs one-year deal that could have seen him offloaded in the New Year. Previous boss Neil Warnock insisted the club would honour the contract. But Gazette/Chronicle sport has learned Rangers are in negotiations with Dyer (pic) to pull the curtains down on one of the shortest playing careers of anyone pulling on a Hoops shirt. I remember Warnock saying he'd signed Dyer because he liked the fact that he had something to prove. He has proven that he's fragile.
Indeed we did. What was Warnock thinking of? Was Dyer the inspiration for Samuel L. Jackson's character in Unbreakable?
I am sure that he was being paid on a "pay as you play" deal, and it was touted as being a no risk signing (money wise). There might have been a small payment each month, but the biggest cost would have been medical bills.
Can't be easy for him having to finally accept that his playing career is over May he adjust to life on civvy st and find some new challenge Loss adjuster perhaps??!! All the best KD

" Only if we went private Eamon....knowing the goons were as tight as a ducks arse in the water, Dyer was definately a NHS patient
he use to be known for roasting defences, he only roasts women, shame great player in his day, i bet he knew his doctor well
I too am fabulously wealthy but without the fulfilment I am blessed with it would be like eating paper food from gold plates.
He was thinking, "awright I've got me another new owner of the club, management is going bonkers but I have to keep a level head and get the team running, owner's promised things but I still don't have much of a budget, I also have to think about players' wages and with Joey getting $80,000 a week, it won't leave much for others but here's a decent player who needs a chance to come back and perhaps he can do it, I'll take a gamble, since when he does play he plays well, but I'll have to see if he can stay away from getting injured..... lots of players out there but with what I've got I can't offer much so I'll bring in what I can with what I've got." Um, so yeah, Unbreakable was his inspiration. Yeah.
Neil's offer to keep paying KD did seem excessively generous. It's not as if he had a long and illustrious career with the hoops. How many players would show such generosity towards a club? Too many of them are just mercenaries out to screw all they can from their club. For example, John Terry pretending he might leave Chelsea in order to secure a better contract extension, ditto Wayne Rooney at Manure, both later saying they never intended to leave. And don't get me started on Tevez...
