May as well have a general chat with my fellow saints the football can wait til tomorrow.

So guys who has lived with or next to somebody you hated for whatever reason.

I currently share a house with 3 other guys one of them is the most irritating nastly little rats I have ever laid eyes on.

I call him West Ham as a nickname because when I first met him I asked him which team he supports and that was his reply..... ok you might think but when I asked who his fav player was and where he thought they might finish he couldn't answer either.

Scratching my head I went in for the obvious question "how can you be a fan if you don't know any of the players or about the team"?

He replied " I got a West Ham towell"

I gave up and tried to steer clear knowing without football we would have nothing else in common.

But when I get home from work of a evening if I am not seeing my Mrs the minute I put my key into my room door he is out like a flash inflicting his painful spotty face on me and asking if I fancy dinner and watching dvds.

I have been rude a couple of times and told him ****off but feel bad afterwards but he's a total parasite.

So anyone else live with or have lived with or next to a complete twat?.

To be honest it doesn't sound like he's a prick, just overly friendly.

Count yourself lucky. I had a landlord who was a perv, kept talking suggestively and trying to touch me. He bore a strong physical resemblance to the murderer Christie and even followed me from Wales to Dorking. Very difficult to deal with as a young woman. I'd have settled for annoying any day.

Yeah I do feel bad sometimes if I am short or nasty to him.

But prick isn't the word more weird I guess some of the stuff he says and does is strange as anything I have caught him flushing his socks down the toilet before.

Fair enough. I'm in Uni halls for a few more months but so far I've just had the normal stuff. People yelling at me for not doing washing up then not doing their own, someone inviting a number of random friends to get mashed in our kitchen, people having screaming arguments with partners down the phone etc

It was a long time ago and without evidence what can you do? He never hurt me and he could deny everything said to me. He just said he was passing when he turned up in Surrey. Young girls find this stuff difficult to deal with because we are people pleasers. Don't think I'd have got the police support that people get now..but believe me he was scary.

That sounds like your general uni life Dan! I am sure you will see countless piles of uncleaned vomit in your halls over the next year or so!

I doubt any of them are weird though just young and not good with drink and cleaning <ok>

I had a roommate for a couple years who was a natural disaster of a human being. He disappeared for a couple months without any warning, apparently because he (not entirely unreasonably) believed that the police were looking for him, and I allowed him back into the apartment only because I was terribly short of cash, what with paying his portion of the rent for a couple months, and he had a cheque.

A few months later, I got home (with a friend who'd never met him, though she had heard stories) on New Year's Eve to find him pacing about the place, slightly bloodied...he wanted to know if I had a baseball bat or a crowbar, because he'd gotten into something with one of his friends and was planning to "finish it"; said friend lived in the same building. I decided that the best option was to get the hell out of there, and while my friend and I were leaving, we heard a couple loud crashes from the floor above...he had taken a golf club and attempted to break through the door.

He got evicted; my saint of a building manager took pity, and nothing happened to me, even though the lease was in my name. Couple months later, he returned to the building, assaulted said building manager (who was a wonderful, 5'2" or 5'3" woman; he was about 6'3"), and I had to spend a fair bit of time chatting with the authorities.

I shared a room at Uni with a bloke who lit a bonfire on top of his chest of drawers one night when he was pissed. I've shared with a few other weird people in my younger years, but no one as bad as Schad's guy.

The people I live with are decent enough, but there is this one Norwegian girl who hides away in her room all day, and is still awkward to talk to after 4 months of living together. Just a few minutes ago, a couple of her friends came round and she started talking to them about the rest of us, not realising that I'm in the next room with the door closed and I can hear everything they're saying <laugh>.

Christie... the guy who testified against the husband of the wife he himself had murdered; and let him hang? What a creeping looking chap, but I suppose most top rung murderers could double as brilliant scientists. Strange, I came across that chap yesterday reading about wrongful executions.

On subject. I had a flatmate who said he'd been to the doctor about a rash at top of his leg, and the doc had told him his pants were too tight. I said, "you were advised about underwear by your doctor?" To which he quickly replied, sensing my amusement and intrigue; "IT'S NORMAL"

Same guy was caught, well proudly orbital sanding down the paintwork of his bike on the kitchen table, dust every where and Celtic scarf warpped around his face. "OI! TAKE IT OUTSIDE" ...the guy takes the bike and starts sanding it down in the hallway!

    a real maverick

    Exactly my reaction.

Honestly though, if you don't get along, then you don't get along. At least you'll have something in common with the Saints v WHU match.

The only thing will be hearing his bloody horrible voice if they win talking about the score we he would know nothing about the game.

A few years back I took in an ex-Saints academy player who had to quit football because he was getting injured all the time. Basically, it was said his frame couldn't stand up to the stress. Looking back I realise that there were a lot of lies and half-truths in there. I came across him because I was asked by a local charity, that I did IT work for, if I could mentor the nipper. So I had a go. I got him a job, and kept the rent really low as he got some money under his belt. As he had no transport he would occasionally ask me to drop him at football matches he was playing in. We also used to go to watch academy matches and reserve games, and he would chat with ex-mates, though they weren't overly friendly. Anyway, the charity advised me to stop discounting the rent, as it was costing me and he wasn't standing on his own two feet, so to speak. After I did that [it wasn't that much anyway] he started to stay away, and then come back after two or three days. I then heard he was stealing from work and/or not turning up at all, which really annoyed me, because I'd called in a big favour to get him sorted. I called a halt when I totted up how much he owed me, which was around a £1K. Also, while he was with me, my car was broken into and the sound system was stolen. It was something he really lusted after too, whenever I gave him a lift. It doesn't take a genius, eh..?

The funny thing was, he was a nice nipper and would do anything for you. But he had his dark side.

Haha, not really, but I think she was making out that it was our fault and not hers that she doesn't socialise with us. Her friends were actually telling her that she should make more of an effort to talk to us instead of hiding in her room all the time. She's a nice enough person and she doesn't really have a bad thing to say about us other than that we can be quite messy and loud sometimes, and then she leaves us notes to let us know <laugh>

Exactly, when coming up "er...West Ham!" as the team he 'supports' the lad was obviously trying to bond ...probably doesn't like football and acquired the towel randomly (cue paranoid about your Saints towel!). Pretty embarrassing for him, but it's probably unfair to define him by a well intended but socially awkward mistake.
