Everyone on this board owes something to Syd for all he has done in the past, and continues to do on our board, but I just challenge him to admit that he was wrong to continue praising Bruce, and not admitting that Martin O'Neill was a far better manager.Martin has come in,spent nothing, unlike Bruce, and got the lads winning games. Why??Please, admit it Syd,you were wrong, for once!!!

he wasnt wrong at all, Bruce spent very little, MON has spent nowt because he couldnt, lets wait till the summer eh.

has MON got better results, yes of course he has, will the wheels come off, yes probably, ? is who will still support MON when they do, syd probably.

Supporters are a fickle old bunch.

FFS we've just had a fantastic win why are we still bashing Bruce?
I'm not scared to admit I backed Bruce rite up till his last two games. At that point it was obvious he had lost the fans and I don't care what anyone says. The atmosphere in the SOL affects the players on the pitch.
Lets not forget the team that won tonight was built by Bruce.

In Syd's defence and all other BIB's, no one, and i mean no one, not even Cest, could have predicted that MON would have been this good. Totally over the moon that he has been but no one could see this much success so soon.

After a great result like tonight, why the need to post so aggressively? It is no wonder Syd gets fed up at times. Unless this is meant to be a joke and I just don't see it.

There was a few of us in the bib group right until the last game

In retrospect, I am glad Bruce did go, because MON is the better manager but I wouldnt say i was wrong for supporting Bruce until the end. I'll do the same with MON if he ever goes through a bad patch as well, but I'll want and hope he will turn it around just like I did with Bruce. In most cases stability is the best way forward; imagine if MON hadnt wanted the job and we got another person instead and they got us relegated?

    Retrospect is a wonderful thing.

Supporting the Manager when they are doing well is easy, Supporting them when they are going through a tough patch is a lot harder.

We cannot keep this form up, Its league winning form, the start has been that good, the only way is down (not the league even though that may come as well, but in results) so when we go through a sticky patch will you still support him, like syd done with Bruce.

Bruce is gone, he was sacked, **** happens, we move on, and we have, I dont even know why members are still having a go at Bruce, all Managers go through a sticky patch, even Wenger is atm, AVB is, like i said supporters are a fickle old bunch.

I think its more a case of people keep on bringing up Bruce as being deserving of credit for the miracle that Martin O'Neill has performed since he arrived. The fans that keep having a pop at Bruce would probably prefer to see threads posted that live in the present offering total appreciation for what Martin O'Neill has achieved with a squad that under Bruce's 'guidance' was staring at relegation.

I support everyone representing SAFC 100% as long as they are in their job, as was the case for Bruce.

MON has been superb and got 100% out of every player but remember who assembled this squad.

Instead of taking a swipe at one of our own, why not celebrate one of the greatest team performances we have witnessed for a long long time?

Four of the players who were in today's squad had nothing to do with Bruce. Richardson, Bardsley, Colback and Meyler. So if we are raising a glass to previous managers then it is appropriate that we also drink to Roy Keane who signed the scorer of our first goal today.

    Well done Keano lad.

SB certainly resurrected Bardo's career with SAFC, and gave Colback a proper break in the 1st 11. But in the spirit I was encouraging above today is not the day for sniping

I'd also add that it isn't a day to keep on dragging up a mention for Steve Bruce... Bardsley was a good solid defender under Keano just as he was under Bruce and is today under O'Neill.

    Murray, Keane, Bruce.

We would not be in the position we are now without each of those key figures in our past. Each derided at one point or another in their tenure at SAFC but each played a vital part in where we find ourselves at the moment.

Lets enjoy it while we can and while it lasts.

So a flop had the vision to bring the team that won tonight to SOL, and he also sold the club to players like Gardener, Sess Larrson and the others. I agree that Bruce lost the plot soon after the start of the season but he could make a sound judgement on the players he needed, he just couldn't organise them, MON can.

I don't recall Syd saying that MON is not a better manager and why shouldn't he praise Bruce for what he has done for the club. He is entitled to an opinion just as you are the only difference is that he is right in offering Bruce some praise and you are wrong in accusing Syd in a somewhat aggressive tone.

I'm not sure this is fair at all. The first time I saw a note of doubt about Bruce in Sid's posts was after the Brighton game. I can't remember what he said now, but I was so surprised I haven't forgotten it.

But anyway, does it matter? All the BIBs can be described as 'wrong' now, but at the time it was just my opinion against another man's opinion. We're all entitled to that without having our noses rubbed in it later. Some of the people I most respect on this board were BIBs to the last.

I have a question,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Bruce spent very little? at every club he has managed, he has spent massive, when allowed, ok he sold players to balance the books. but at the end of his watch , he didnt have a clue what to do with the players he brought in, and the players he let go, will not miss him one iota. my question is,,,,, under his watch,,, how did he improve our club, or my love for it............. ****in good riddance.
