Most of us here think he is class, but difficult to play him and Kermorgant in the same team and Kermorgant is even better. I assume either Hayes got fed up with sitting on the bench or that Chris Powell thought it would be better for him to play and stay sharp. We have a recall clause if Kermorgant gets injured in the next four weeks. After that time we will hopefully be over the line for promotion and could put in a youngster like Sho-Silva or play one up front so wouldn't miss Hayes too much.
From the Chairboys board - "... the chant of 'It's just like watching Charlton Athletic' was pure class" Brilliant.
Oh no he isn't! Just what we have been missing someone with presence to lead the back line. Only our third clean sheet of the season, a goal and man of the match... say no more!
agreed the doc was everything we have been missing this season won everything in the air and his experience was there for all to see.
Would the song - "They score where they want, they score where want - Charlton Athletic, they score where they want" be suitable at the moment...
Hayes will get the glory from today ( very unusual for that to happen ) but Doherty deservedly got the MOTM award. What he lacks in pace, he makes up with his experience and ability to talk his fellow defenders through the game.
It seems as though Doherty has been around forever - but he is only 32. Perhaps Wycombe will pick him up on a free at the end of the season. He can still do a good job at this level. Hopefully L1 for Wycombe next season, eh?
I havent seen that in the Doc to be honest he has been pretty piss poor for us hope all goes well for him
Good luck to the doc- but a word of warning is that he started well enough for us but then became an absolute liability. Happy for Hayes- he should still be in our match day squad.
