Last night was a piss poor performance. We looked tired and disorganised. My point is though how players such as Larsson/Campbell etc who where the best thing since sliced Bread a couple of games ago are getting slated, also how in the summer we need wholesale changes when we only needed to tweek things. What we do need is a deeper depth of a squad. The cup run with the replays show that with the squad we have we will struggle or remain a mid table team.

I agree Comm but IMHO we have a decent team we do need a proven goal scorer, but more than anything we need more Depth.

Teams need to be judged over a season.
This season after a terrible start we could easily end up at Wembley and finish top half in the Prem.
All in all here we are in mid March and this could still be easily the most successful season in my lifetime.

It'll be an interesting summer...have a feeling that there will be a fare few changes in personnel....

But the nucleus is there for a decent team...

I don't think we do need wholesale changes and would be very surprised to see them.

Larsson has been a bit of for a few games and could do with a rest but like has been said squad depth prevents that.

Campbell we seem to have forgotten is still coming back from a long term injury and I think will get his rest with Sess back.

The main thing is we have over performed of late and our good run has maybe made us expect to much.

Exactly this Syd, personally even if we were to go out of the cup against Everton and finish about 14th, I will still be happy considering where we were 5 months ago. People are over-reacting to last night's result and as I have already stated, win against QPR and everybody will be buzzin again.

    Football's a funny old game.

I try and avoid this site immediately following a defeat simply because there is always a crazy knee-jerk reaction...The following day usually sees a more measured and reasonable response from the vast majority of posters.

We had 5 key players missing last night! Any team would be vunerable with that many out, what it did do was highlight how badly we miss Sess in the final third as he is quality and scares teams. We should be going all out to keep this lad and maybe even bringing in another quality midfielder (hard to come by I know) to complement him. We also need a striker/Left back(cover) and possibly cover for the right wing. Thats four and won't come cheap but imo needed if we need to push on.

    if players are in position

    in nets we're fine
right back - Bardo or Elmo
centre - choice of O'Shea, Brown, Titus, Turner, Killa and Cptn Gyros
left back - Rico or Bridge
right wing - Larrson or Elmo
centre - catts, colback, vaughn, gardner, meyler
left wing - McClean or perhaps Rico
forwards - Sess, Bendtner, Campbell, Ji & Whickham

    the spine is fine, but
left-side, right-side we need back up as Elmo don't cut it, Bridge ain't gonna last & Rico need competition to perform.
then up front: doubts over Bendtner, Ji & Whickham (aka adrian mole)

    = 3 to 4 players required.
1 either side with pace who can 'wing-back it,
2 up top - knott has a chance of coming through, not sure about Noble.

that's provided we keep Sess, which would change it again. i'm not worried we'll lose the others.

It was stated by Short a few weeks back that thet had spoken to TWO in Europe & that the move would be made in Summer.
It might have been Comm who posted the comment but I'm not 100% ?
