Now on to the match ratings -

Krul - 8 - Some fantastic saves to keep us from going behind after a few bad defensive moments from the team.

    Simpson - 7.5 - Good game.

Willo - 8 - Pretty much solid. A few shakey moments, but all round, it's good to see Willo back to the standard we know he's capable of.

Colo - 8 - Great return. Also a few little ****ty moments, but all round solid. Great to see him back. Some of his touches were vital and sexual <cool>

Santon - 8 - Great performance. He's starting to show a more tactical awareness, he's been impressive and he's ****ing beast going forward. Linked up well with Fergie.

Jonas - 7 - Good defensive shift. Not his best but he got stuck in. Some great runs forward also.

Perch - 7 - Did a good defensive job in the first half. Would have surely scored if the defenders arse hadn't have got in the way <cool>

Cabaye - 7.5 - Some great passing, good movement. He's been great the last few games. Could have done better at times, but good performance.

Ferguson - 7 - Very lively. Some great tracking back, some good tackles, and he possesses good strength and balance for a lad his size. Promising. Good for seeing a game out and adding a bit of pace. Linked up with Santon well.

Ba - 6.5 - Nearly there, but not quite. Sad to see him come off. Good performance, things just didn't quite go for him. He really needs a goal. He's still putting in good performances, but his spark in front of goal isn't quite back yet.

Cisse - 7.5 - At first I didn't think the bloke was that much of a physical being, but the bloke has good balance on the ball. He can't really flick things on with his head, but his ball control with his feet and chest is excellent. He took balls down well, and held off CB's well also. Good performance, good goal.

Shola - 7 - Showed great strength to hold off players and was a nuisance for Bolton. Good assist. He's a very useful impact player.

HBA - 8.5 - A bit on and off, but ****ing world class goal. Has to be MOTM IMO. Some great play and some great passes and touches. That back heel to Demba was just incredible. He's turned from a Luxury player to a CL quality member of the squad. Him, Cisse and Ba can threaten any team. ANY TEAM. Not just talking about most, I'm talking any feckin team! He made the difference and got the team sparked back into life. Great run, great skill and cool finish. He's a much better finisher than I used to think he was. I thought when I first saw him, that he was great at long shots, but his finishing was inconsistent. But he's shown how composed he is when it comes to finishing. He's got to be the best finisher at the club after Ba and Cisse.

Overall - Great first 25 mins, after that we were sloppy and a bit off the pace, and Bolton could have quite easily scored a couple of goals. That Chris Eagles looks class. Only thing that stopped him or Bolton scoring was Krul. Then we finished very well, and Ben Arfa was fantastic during both our spells of dominance.

    HOWAY THE ****ING LADS!!

**** saggy face, **** the pundits, **** Mackem scum!!!!!

Also a great thing, we've only conceded 1 goal in 5 games!

Krul - 7 - Good saves to keep us in it, some poor distribution
    Simmo - 5 - Meh
Willo - 5 - Just not very good at football
Colo - 6 - Good interceptions but lost his man often
Santon - 7 - Very good first half, became more and more anonymous
HBA - 8 - AMAZING goal, another good run and some decent tracking back at times
    Perch - 5 - Did nothing, didn't control midfield.
    Cabaye - 5 - See Perch
Jonas - 6 - Poor first half, very solid second.
Cisse - 7 - Good running and tracking back, made excellent runs for Ba but didn't get played in.
    Ba - 4 - Terrible actually.

Shola - 6/7 - Very good cross, did everything right.
Fergie - 6 Looked very bright but pretty ineffective
    Raylor - ? - No idea.

Overall - we were terrible for 70 mins, can't really put these much higher.

We weren't **** for 70 mins, we were good for the first 20, and for the last 20.

We were poor for 50 minutes.

We all have ways of rating players, and I respect yours. I know we were bad for a big portion of the game, but we all stuck in and got the job done, I don't think we were as bad as some people think we were.

Aye I know I should give Ba lower for his technical performance today. But just didn't have the heart to do it. He tried is guts out.

I'd give him a 6. I don't actually think he was that poor when we were playing well.

If we had carried on the poor spell we had to the end of the game the ratings would be lower, but I just think the 30-40 minutes we had was worthy of admiration.

I would give each player a different rating for each spell of the game but I CBA. Those are my ratings.

Don't see the harshness on Simmo today, he didn't really do much wrong.

Tash is always the same when we win, doesn't matter how good or how bad we play. Average for the most part, only a few players looked better than average. My ratings:-

Krul 7 - great when needed, lost when Petrov crossed for Pratley and dropped an easy catch
    Santon 6
    Simpson 6
    Colo 6
    Willo 6
    Perch 6
Cabaye 6.5 - 0.5 for his great passing range
Ben Arfa 7 - came to life when Ameobi came on but was our best attacking threat before this
    Gutierrez 6
Ba 5.5 - poor never looked interested and kept drifting inside when playing wide left
Cisse 6.5 - 0.5 for the goal threat

Ferguson 6.5 - Changed the game with his width
Ameobi 6.5 - ignition for Ben Arfa, great strength AND PACE for assist for Cisse
    R Taylor --

PARDEW - Spotted the failings and corrected them with the correct substitutions. Been a genius for the last 2 months when it comes to subs!

Yeah I know I've been a bit over eager with my ratings tonight, but to be fair to me, on most of my match threads, most people agree with the majority of my ratings :D

Perch had no energy at all...He normally plays like a man possessed in DM, but not today. I'd have given him about a5. Cabaye had to work for him instead in the first half.. Cabaye deserves maybe a 7 or 7.5..

It only takes someone to do 1 thing amazing and you give them an 8 or above. The best way to do it is the old Championship Manager way. Everyone starts on 6, if they play **** they go backwards, if they play average they stay the same, if they did better than average they can get up to 7 and if they were good they get 8 and if they were truly fantastic they get 9+...0.5 of a point is for something special to define the same performance as another player but with that little something special.

    I'm already sold out.

I'm making the most of it now because we will struggle to keep our best players this summer.

Completely agree! Thought we were fairly poor on the whole today, and were bossed in the possession stats on Friday, but have come away with two wins. The sum of our team is greater than the sum of its parts, even when those parts are playing poorly. Same could be said for many Man United teams I think.

I think everyone has forgotten it was our second game in 3 days. Only one change from Friday's team, when you look at Chelsea/Spurs they made about 3 changes each, and look what happened to them. Is everyone forgetting Bolton are fighting for their exsistence in Premier league, and were very physical, which the ref let them get away with. Good teams win when not playing brilliantly. We now have 2 weeks to recharge the batteries, and get ready for another physical team, Stoke.
