Third set of matches and still not looking too far into the future so predict the results for the final three games only. 3 points for correct match score, 1 point for correct match result (if predicted score is wrong) plus 5 points for correct total points prediction for next four games. New rule – if two leaders after Monkey Hanger game the winner will be the person with the closest aggregate to the number of Charlton goals scored. Charlton 2 Wycombe 0 (result Charlton 2 Wycombe 1) Preston 1 Charlton 3 (result Preston 2 Charlton 2) Charlton 4 Hartlepool 1 (result Charlton 3 Hartlepool 2) Total points for next four games is = 9 points I will work out an overall winner for all four competitions after this mini league closes. AllHell
Charlton 3 - 0 wycombe Preston 2 - 2 charlton (champions) Charlton 4 - 1 hartlepool 7 points ending us in 101 for the season
Charlton 1 Wycombe 0 Preston 0 Charlton 1 (Champions) Charlton 0 Hartlepool 1 (foot off the pedal time) 100 points
I can see Chris starting with his strongest team and saying "This is a full house... go out there and entertain them" however, I can see Cousins and Azeez on the bench and being given 10 minutes at the end of the game
Utterly depends on the effect of securing promotion. We will either be liberated and play great football or go to sleep. I'm going for Charlton 2 Wycombe 1 Preston 1 Charlton 1 Charlton 3 Hartlepool 0 Job done. Champeoneeez, champeoneez etc
charlton 3 v wycombe 1 preston 0 v charlton 1 charlton 1 v pools 1 - nothing to play for and lots of youngsters getting on the bench for the day Still 101 points would be an incredible tally for the season
Why are people saying that there will be nothing to play for against Hartlepool? We will have 26,500 in the Valley with 26,000 Addicks! Isn't that something to play for? The reason we are top is because we have taken every league game seriously this season, we have very good players and a very good manager but it is our attitude towards games that have got us promotion and why should this change for Hartlepool? Chris just wouldn't allow it.
If you are certain he won't allow it All Hell then I doubt that we will see cameo appearances from any of our youth squad or from players that might be departing over the summer. He will put out the strongest possible team and we will stomp the pools into the Valley turf. My guess is we will be champions already by this time and Chris will relax a little and put out a team that he hopes has the class to win but is not the like of ones we have seen all season. You never know we might even all be proven wrong and Alonso will emerge from the Bermuda triangle
Knowing CP, i would think he would want to put out the players that have got us in this position - i wouldnt be happy, for example, if I was Morro or Kermy to be told i was being rested at a time of celebration. So, it will be the same as all season, with all the subs being used, with Solly,Morro,Kermy,Jacko and Wiggy being sub'd - ie the ever-presents for most of the season to get their individual appreciation from the crowd. And thats why i think we will get beat, as its going to be treated like a friendly for us.
Charlton 5 Wycombe 0 Preston 0 Charlton 3 Charlton 3 Hartlepool 1 Ballroom Blitz I know I'm the form form predictor at the moment so I'm confident.
CP has done something not even Curbs could do- he has pulled us out of our traditional end-of-season slump and put us on another winning streak, so I expect that to continue.
I would think that if and when the championship is secured, CP might take the chance of playing any player about whom he has not yet made up his mind whether to retain for next season (if there are any in that category). Or to put in the shop window anyone he has decided to move on, but has some resell value (Hayes?). Certainly no value in including loan players we will not be trying to sign permanently (which would seem to include Cook as he isn't even on the bench when we have a half-fit Jackson on the pitch).
Charlton 3 - 1 Wycombe Preston 0 - 1 Charlton Charlton 1 - 1 Hartelpool 101 points and the Championship wrapped up at Wycombe.
