Do we know of any definite injuries? Anyone heard anything on the fitness of Enrique? Best has an injury according to Pardew on the radio the other night.

Assuming he doesn't play I can see Pardew going with something like this:

    Harper

    Taylor Williamson Coloccini Simpson
    Ireland/Guthrie Barton Gutierrez
    Nolan
    Ameobi Lovenkrands

Would people be happy with that? Or would you like to see Ferguson in there somewhere as well as Ranger?

I think, barring the people you said, that's about what we can expect. Though i would prefer Ranger in place of Lover. Fergie to come on for the last 15.

    I really hope not.
Saylor's debut all them years ago prove that he is just not a right back and if we can avoid playing him their we should!
the rest of the team is decent as we know Pardew will go with the front pairing of Ameobi and Lovenkrands so theres no point in predicting otherwise.
I would have Simpson right and Ferguson left.
Possibly Saylor in for Williamson too

God I hope not, if Enrique and Best were both out I'd play:

    Harper
    Simpson Williamson Colo Ferguson
    Barton Ireland Nolan Guthrie Jonas
    Ranger

If Best is fit then 4-4-2 with Ranger or more likely a straight swap as Ranger never starts. Enrique for Feruson if fit.

I'd rather see Ranger in before Lovenkrands too. Let's face it Lovenkrands was carp in his last showing and offered nothing at all. Has everybody forgotten so soon?

Lovenkrands is ****. But Pardew didn't sound confident of Ranger getting a start any time soon.

Aye he only sees him as an impact player at the moment and said it is up to Ranger to apply himself in order to chane that viewpoint

True but Ranger and Best are the only strikers at the club I rate, and the only two I would play this season if possible. Best looks like our only striker who can score and of the other 4 Ranger has far more impact on a game, often getting into goalscoring positions then fluffing it because of nerves, I think/hope the first goal will open the floodgates.

If both fit I'd like to see them start together, if not then Best in a 4-5-1, as Lover and Shola are useless.

Agree with everything except Ranger on his own up front, until he starts scoring he needs someone along side him.
If best is fit I'd be tempted the throw the kuqi monster up front with him, just because he is big and physical to compete with Wolves.
If Best is out I'd Shola and Loven up front , big fella with loven making runs off him. If Barton is back there should be more service to them than what they had the last couple of matches. but this pairing might be a bit lightweight to compete with Wolves
Best to throw Ranger on with someone for the last 20 minutes or so.

Keep the defence as it is, and if Saylor does play he should be in the centre of defence not LB or RB. Ferguson to start if Jose's out.

Ideally you'd have Ranger with Best as he can score goals, but I dont see what Shola or Lover would offer playing with him. I think his hold up play with Nolan and Ireland getting forward as they do would be very dangerous, more so than a 4 man midfield and a passenger up front with Ranger.

Although sadly I can see Lover and Shola both starting <cry>

Knowing Pardew,he is going to play the same formation like that the last one.
Ameobi and Mcloven in front,Guthrie in the place of tiote.

    ...............Harper.................
    Simmo....Willo....Colo...Enrique
    ...........Nolan....Guthrie.........
    Barton.........................Jonas
    .....Ameobi.....Lovenkrands.....

    Obviously we're going for a draw. -.-

I would like to see Ferguson play on the wing instead of Jonas but that may not happen because of Enrique being injured or a doubt. Jonas is largely terrible but does have the odd game where he might do a few crosses (Birmingham away being the only one I can remember) but Ferguson did well at Stoke and I think he would honestly do better. People may say I am putting in Ferguson because of his solo run against Stoke but Jonas is useless and the only reason people would include him is because he plays well with Enrique. That is a rubbish reason for him to play. He is useless but the guy he plays with is good? Rant over.

I'm not knocking Jonas for the fun of it. I said in my post that he does play well on occasions but is not often enough. If he played like that consistently I would have him in my starting line up a majority of the time. But he doesn't. Who are the other Jonas knockers from Whitley Bay?

Yes Jonas may not be the greatest crosser in the world, he may not be the greatest passer, however he brings many other qualities to our game that people don't give him credit for. His link up play with Enrique is outstanding, he tracks back well, he allows us to strech the game, and every now and then he pops up with a decent cross. His main attribute though is that he relieves the pressure on our defence, as we all know he can dribble past a number of players and then win a free kick. Also, as pictures have proved, he DOES ****ing wave. Rant over.
