Tom James, Michael Bryan, Rene Gilmartin and Chez Issac are being released in the summer, while watford want to offer new contracts to McGinn and Taylor. Which ones should have stayed and why. select the ones you one to keep or the none of them.

Tom James and Michael Bryan look like Talent for the future. Bryan should be given time as a winger for us, a position waiting for some talent.

I only went for James. I'm not saying he would have been a success, but he looked as though he had a chance, and I see him as cheap competition for Dicko and Tumwa: Doyley and Hodson are always there if we're not comfortable playing any of them.

I am confident that my mate Aaron will be a good enough left back :)

Michael Bryan is 22 and couldn't even get in League 2 Bradford City's team.

I dont make a habit of picking fav players, but i have made an exception with Tom James. For him to earn 2 contracts with the club shows that he has potential and at least some skill. I really liked this guy!!

In the hope of catching Tomasz Kuszczak, with a one match return to form of Scott Loach and the improving Jonathan Bond it was very easy to see Rene Gilmartin going, he never really had an opportunity and when he did he did not do enough to take Scott Loach's place.

Tom James is an strange case. He came from Stratford Town as a development player and he never had the chance in the first team.

Chez Isaac and Michael Bryan could have done something but did not.

Writing from the place of not seeing the reserve team play I cannot say how good or not these players are and if there are new young players coming from the academy we have nothing to worry about. In my opinion the backroom staff know what they are doing and these four are the ones to go. I would have liked to see Tom James given a bigger chance but if he was not good enough then he was not good enough.

I can only assume that Tumwa is better than the relative lack of noise about him would suggest. That is the only way that releasing Tom James makes sense.

It's actually a quartet, unless someone else has disappeared off the radar.
Reasons for choosing them all seem rational, if sad for the individuals personally. Out of contract, and clearly not done enough to warrant a new one. It's much better than it might have been, with forced sales, transfer listing 'cos we couldn't afford to keep them.
For them, it's worth remembering that sordell was rejected by Fulham, Hoban (who is going to be brilliant I think, and will team up with Dale Bennett to get us/keep us in the premiership) was rejected by Arsenal.

He is a left back, but has been playing as a centre back. He isn't particulrly tall (or short)..but he is pretty strong and he has to be pretty pacey, as he was the sprint and cross country champion for his age in Harrow when he was younger. He started out as a striker, as many do...I would think that his attacking play is still pretty good.

Tom James is probably ok...but Dickinson is obviously better and Tumwa is a good prospect who's likely to exceed James....if he hasn't already.

Lloydinio you haven't got it wrong, in the observer they also mention Josh Walker who's off to Scunthorpe.

I am not a grammar freak but please Lloydy change your title to "should HAVE stayed" - I know that when you say "should've" it sounds like "should of" but it is not - grumble grumble old person grumble :)

They can all go, and Walker. We need to shift a few out then we might get some ins. They all haven't cut it at this level. The staff see them in training and in the reserves, they know (fingers crossed) what they are doing.
