And, according to Sam, at least they have nice 'Premier League' training facilities.....not much use when you're in the Championship!
"I imagine they'll still be pretty hurt that they just got relegated to a goal that should never have stodd in a million years." I think you should look on YouTube at a certain goal scored by by Bolton by one Nat Lofthouse in the 1958 FA Cup Final against Manchester United.
I would imagine that Bolton will be lauded as a model Premiership Club just as Portsmouth. The words - pigs in the same trough - rings a bell. I am already personally totally fed up of the Man City Sky love-in. They are the extreme of a typical illegally operating business dressed up as a modern Premiership football club.
Bolton are now £110m in debt, have a £56m wage bill, are losing £17m a year and with relegation, things have just got a whole lot worse. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...l-health-of-the-Premier-League-laid-bare.html
Article in the Times yesterday "Relegation will be more of a worry at Bolton, who have 12 players out of contract in the summer and owe 110m - 99m of it in the form of a loan with annual interest of 5%. servicing this debt in the championship would be a tough task." Looks pretty much to me that they have been spending way above there means for the past few years in the PL, no doubt that will come back to haunt them in the next year or so !!!!!!
Bolton have at least 10 senior players out of contract. They will have a much poorer squad for next season as well as Blackburn. Looking around elsewhere in the championship ALL is not as bad @ Hull City as many would make you think. A few train wrecks about to emerge elsewhere and also Hence why getting rid of AP/NB this summer was pure madness.
Looks to be a few fire sales planned by clubs in the championship this summer. West Ham will be another IF Blackpool win on the 19th May.
Isn't the first £50M or so from the Reebok? I seem to remember about 5-10 years ago using their initial figures from their promotion to draw a direct comparison between us and them as an example to follow (before they started spending silly money as well). They had a debt and we didn't, but at the time they owned a stadium of equal value to the debt so we were effectively in the same position financially.
No sign of any press or goings on over at the Reebok today - I can see the stadium from the office window - in fact it has been too quiet over there
