Agree with all of that, Barry is utter dogshite! I have more respect for Barton every time I hear him or see his words.

Strange things said there. Alot of it lost in translation I imagine but some of the points he's made are pretty straight forward, I doubt he's doing himself any favours slating the England team and the FA.

If it's true then at least he speaks his mind, and he's spot on about Barry.

Agreed with everything he said apart from the bit about contract negotiations (he's said he wants to stay put at the club).

But great to see a player talking sense and being critical of the system- and even players! Well in Joey!

I think he'll never get back in the team anyway under Capello, and his comments about the England set up are correct, even if he does appear to be burning any final bridges. I Wonder if Redknapp will have the bottle to select him if/when he takes over from Capello?

His comments about his contract are the ones that concern me though, I cant imagine is decision depends entirely on Nolan's, who would probably agree to an extension anyway. And he talks so brazenly about the contract dispute, despite being told not to by the club. I think at least the NUFC part of the interview has probably been taken out of context.

It will be too late by the time England have a new man in. It's a shame but i guess it's the price Joey pays for his actions in the past...

I think some of this has got lost in translation as was said before. I think he probably meant everything that was said in the interview..whether he said it in the above words is a different matter.

Agree with almost every point in there. It's said in a way that I doubt Joey put in but although I like Barry I can't think of a reason to put him instead if Barton

Sounds to me like one of those times somebody makes a light hearted joke to emphasise their point and finds the papers running with headlines such as: BARTON SLAMS "TORTOISE-LIKE" BARRY.

He is right in saying he is the best english midfielder this season and though most of this has the obvious signs of being lost in translation, I'm glad he keeps reminding everyone he's in great form because he seems to be thriving on it this season.

Good word from him! Well, about England, bit of a dangerous game he's playing with the club though. I do hope it's taken out of context.

I don't find it too contentious.

He's simply stated that the club have to show the ambition to match his and if Nolan (as a captain has been brilliant) signs an extension then he will as well.

I think Jose is in the same boat.

Invest that money in new players to signal that the club wants to improve and the existing players will sign up for the challenge.

It seems that Joey just wants what the fans want.
