Wonder how Watford felt about losing Danny Graham, their top scorer, to Swansea?

    Big League - my arse.
We all saw how big Liverpool were last season when we played you off the park TWICE.
So what do you do. Try to learn a lesson and look at what other team are doing right. No, you flash your borrowed yankee dollers and buy the opposition. Great league this.
Brendan could turn you back into the force you were in the 80's given time. But guess what, you won't give him time. Sacked by Easter.

One of the respected posters on the Swansea board said Liverpool had made a donation to Swansea just to keep them afloat back in the 80s (or 90s?), so you have Liverpool to thank for you still having a club to support.

You bitter crying twat,'borrowed yankee dollars'?,wake up lad we're owned by 'yankees',so you played us off the park?,we played and beat Chelsea off the park home and away, does that make us European Champions or win us a trophy?

Will your next manager be 'bought' and his club paid compensation?,will any player you decide to buy this summer be under contract at another club?

    Stop being a whinging hypocrite.

As Billy said its dog eat dog in the 'big' league, get used to it.

Luc, your right, I'm sorry. Liverpool did indeed save Swansea City FC, how can we ever repay you.
I'll tell you what just take what ever you want?

Baz, your right I should not take it to heart but when you see your clubs potential taken away it's not easy.
As you said, it's only business

I'm not saying you should just roll over, but a bit of decency would go pretty far! I mean Liverpool have ensured you have a club to support in the football league, chances are if it wasn't for Liverpool's donation (plus other factors like Huw Jenkins obviously) you wouldn't even be talking about premier league or having been able to watch players of the calibre of Vorm, Graham, Sigurdsson etc and have a manager like Rodgers in charge to start with. To abuse them because we wanted your manager is rather harsh, considering you could've always replaced your manager, but replacing a whole club would've been much tougher.

Like the Murphys...I'm not bitter <laugh>

As for you "Premier"Paul...get used to it <ok> and remember your club owes ours a debt of gratitude. I have massive respect for your club and its philosophies regarding the way the game should be played but do you cry so much when you buy other teams players? Its not as if you only deal in free agents is it?? Football at the top level is a multi-billion pound business hence it's cut-throat...if your club had done the deal sooner then we wouldn't be able to even consider it for a year so maybe you should look a bit closer to home when apportioning blame. If a fella like Torres can jump ship when he's worshipped at Anfield then its pretty obvious there's absolutely no loyalty left amongst players anymore. If you expect loyalty I suggest you buy a dog not support a football team <ok>

    Baz,
Fair enough, but read back through the posts. Who do you think has been attacked?

Tbf paul you attacked the integrity of our club,we've not done anything illegal or brought the game into disrepute.

We have paid an agreed compensation fee with Swansea for the services of their former manager,if we do purchase Gylfi your gripe should be with him and his club not LFC.

You haven't been attacked we've simply defended our clubs right to buy players which you don't seem to think is fair. As I said I respect Swansea as I think do most Reds, your brand of footy is great to watch but with success comes a price. For example...if we have a good year next year won't other clubs be sniffing round our players. Mascherano won a Champs league medal last year as did Torres and Meireles this year and Alonso and Arbeloa won a La Liga title. Who did they all used to play for I wonder? Do I begrudge them success? No (except Torres the ladyboy ****ing twat) <ok>

:D You're right players will come and go and we all have to accept that, Sig is on the market and we are entitled to bid for him.

That's the risk you take when you loan players. If you had taken a gamble and brought him last summer, we would be paying £10mil+ to you for him, instead you only loaned him and as such, you take the risk of other clubs being interested when his loan finishes.

Well put it this way if he does end up going to Swansea he will cost us double (at least) if we try to sign him next year.

Serious question for you liverpool diehards, the reason that siggy worked at swansea was because our system fitted him like a glove, the system we have been using for the last 4/5 years, now brendan rodgers will try and replicate our system with you, there will not be all out attack, his philosophy is based on possession, as long as you have the ball the other team can't score, and you may be spending 2 thirds of the game in your own half, passing the ball back and forth from the back 4 to the half way line and back again, he relies on the 2 wingers to attack and provide quality crosses for the lone forward, siggy will play behind the front man mopping up anything that should come his way, for siggy to fit in and be a success rodgers i suspect will have to change the mindset of your team, the football can be boring for long periods and you are going to have to be patient , because we had to be, its the only way rodgers knows, he tried to be more attack minded but it did not work too well, it was alien to the team, once teams start pressing higher up the field the system faulters because there is much less tme on the ball and your only other option is long ball lumping it up to the forwards, it took us a few years to get it right, so dont expect things to happen overnight, patience and time is what he and the team will need, if results dont go your way do you think FSG and the fans will give him the time, serious question

Last season we had the better part of possession in most of our games but couldn't do anything with it. So he wont have to start anything from scratch...just improvements here and there. Pass completion could be better and if he can solve our goal scoring problems then he will be alright. Don't think we will get top 4 but I'm going to back him for the whole season.

Funny thing Mj is you are making like Swansea's brand of football was more successful than ours last season, our habit of hitting the woodwork is well documented and of course to hit your opponents woodwork your obviously attacking.
We scored more goals and conceded less than the Swans last season and Rodgers will play to our players strengths and add to the existing squad, its as much him as our team that will dictate how we play.

As for will he get time,i say yes(unless he gets us relegated).

Goalscoring was one area he did improve, we ended up with goals coming from a lot more areas and players.<ok>
