It's launching next month and will bring on the 'next generation' of Premier League players and internationals!

Will this honestly help the England set-up or is it just a chance for the young foreign players to develop?

I'm a little bit cynical about it honestly...

Superb Idea. It will help all the youguns that are struggling to get first team places and experience.

Depends when the games are played. If they clash with the reserves our youngsters will play in that, and if it clashes with the U18s there will be limited players available, and if its too close to the first team games plyers like Bigi and Abeid won't play in case they're needed.

    I'm dubious...

Its just a rebranding of the reserve league. Nothing to get excited about, only difference is that you can only have a few older players regaining fitness which given our usual injury record could be a nightmare.

My own thoughts were close to this, it doesn't seem to be exclusively 'England friendly' and I can't see how it's a step forward for our young stars of the future.

If they want to encourage and grow young English talent, just do what they're bringing in in the Football League. Each team is allowed 7 subs, but a minimum of 2 have to be homegrown and under21.

It would mean we'd have to have Fergie, Bigi, Vuckic, Tavs etc on the bench at times, which invariably means they will get game time, or at least be a part of the team.

I actually feel that this will be good for smaller clubs like my club. The Saints are trying to bring young British talent through from our academy and this should help our youngsters a lot. We have already achieved top status as an academy so will be looking forward to seeing other teams of similar ilk in comparison.
