Can go one better than Jack Charlton, met his uncle Jackie and spoke to him and got his autograph.

2007, Sidney Poitier sat having coffee with George Clooney in Spago's Just off Wilshire Blvd in Beverley Hills, LA.
Asked for SP's autograph and didn't notice who his mate was... Then just froze when GC bade me a polite 'good day sir'..

Met Kirk Hammett once. Was skulking around Newcastle the day after their gig in 2009, and he was just walking about.

All my friends and family have seen Nile Ranger, Colo or Jonas in Nando's lol.

Also ran a test event for the Olympics alongside Nell McAndrew, Gunnell, Steve Backley, Roger Black (who I used as my paceman') and princess Beatrice all of whom I spoke to.

A fab day and I, of course wore the track in for Mo and Usain.

Met Noel Edmonds, back when he did the House Party.

I met him because my Mother and Father surprised my brother on the show because he hated my Mums Christmas decorations. So, she came out as a massive bauble while Noel spoke to us both.

I was used on the TV adverts promoting it for weeks after because of how cute PTN was when he was 7.

I ran against Steve Cram once at a Gateshead school in the 800 mtrs. I was winning to the last bend and he cut the track on the inside and won. I complained to the teacher and he said "He knows the track son". The cheating mackem sod.

Made a certain hand gesture at Michael Fish when he cut me and my Mum up in Knutsford a week ago. He drove a Mazda MX-5, roof down, so saw...

Also know someone who used to be head of security for the Sultan of Saudi Arabia.

Met Jackie Charlton, was a properly nice guy...

Was in Thailand and started a dance off with my cousin up on a massive stage in a bar called Green Mango in Koh Samui (didn't even know she was there and she fell out of a bar and bumped into me, was very surreal). Loads of people randomly joined in, then it turned into boys Vs girls, then out of nowhere, this massive lad started doing the worm across the stage, turned out to be England hooker Dylan Hartley (rugby for those who don't know him)...Started having a bit of craic and got invited back to his private apartment with the strict instructions of 'bring booze and women'...Went back and was drinking Grey Goose in his swimming pool, surrounded by semi-naked women, music blasting etc. (think any music video, to any summer anthem - THAT is what it was like). Ended up having a competition to see who had the biggest balls/the most to drink by jumping in off higher and higher objects into his pool - I ended up backflipping off his garden wall into his pool and they all conceded...rugby, pffft soft as ****e! Stayed up partying all night and then he cooked us all scrambled eggs in the morning...One of the most surreal but amazing nights of my life!

I've had breakfast with comedian Steve Hall, conversations with singer Richard Hawley and legend Super Mac (not at a gig/match) and I am related (by cousin twice removed) to Damon Hill.

I have appeared on TV no less than three times, twice during Blyth Spartans recent cup run (where they sadly cut my line, "this is as important to Blyth as the JFK assassination was to America") and once on X Factor where I got to the second round, though the footage is of me 'nervously' waiting rather than of me actually singing.

I have co-presented two training DVDs for Iceland Foods which have been distributed nationally to all stores and shown to people at least once at compulsary staff meetings. Weirdly, I have actually been recognised for these. I've also sang on Koast Radio after coming second in a big karaoke competition and done a fair few gigs in the past as lead singer of 'Type Five', usually wearing a pumpkin hat.

You should have went into the back of his NEW CAR then told him to calm down, claiming that life is in fact, just a commercial.

    <EDIT>

Oh ****, that's Michael Winner not Michael Fish. Never mind, carry on. <somersault>

I met Queen Elizabeth in my military days whilst on parade. She didn't talk to me though!

Bumped into a shed load of footballers and coronation street cast in and around Manchester over the years too, Roy Keane being the pick of them for me but Beckham being the most famous I guess. I also had the displeasure of meeting Katie Price, absolute tramp.

I like all sorts from Dancehall, through to lovers rock, but always return to the Roots and Culture.
Personal favourites include, Burning Spear, Culture, Mighty Diamonds, I Jahman.

Also like the revival stuff by artists such as
    Gregory Isaacs RIP
    Dennis Brown RIP
    Garnet Silk RIP
    Freddie McGregor
    Beres Hammond
    Bob Marley RIP
Just noticed how many of these artist have passed on, some of them met violent deaths at a young age sadly.

Thanks to all who have responded to the post.

I am quite astounded by how well travelled, debonair and exotic we all are. Simply oozing class.

You're the only person I know with the same taste in music as me! Like the Mighty Diamonds as well.

There's a film I've got called "Rockers" you can watch on Youtube. Excellent film with a great intro by The Abyssinians. Well worth a watch if you've got the time. <ok>
