In the news that he's been linked with a move to Bristol City. Even though ML wants players out, he and Jinks have both said they will not force Monk out and he's free to stay.

"One of the things we've had over the years is a fantastic nucleus of players that have stayed with us and Garry's been part of that," Jenkins said.

"We've talked things through, myself and the manager with Garry, and Garry's main aim is to try and play football.

"That's what he wants and we'll see what happens over the next few days.

"In no way is he ever going to be pushed out of our football club. He's part and parcel of it.

"But his wishes are taken into account and whatever decision we make over the next few days, and Garry decides to make, we'll work together on it."

Pleased that they hold Gary in such high regard, as us fans do. Jack forever.

I'd loan him to Bristol , I'd be one sad puppy if he was sold . What a job he did last season when the squad was a bit short on numbers . 14 starts in the Premier , 5 clean sheets last season . Not bad for a guy a lot said was not good enough for the Championship when we rose out of League 1 . Key to the city kinda guy , goodluck to him if he stays or goes ... hope he stays

He's contracted until 2014,and into 10 year testimonial territory.

Can't see him going anywhere and miss the potential of a big pay day two years down the road, and who could blame him.

Monk has been a part of the furniture for eight years, and it's good to see the Club giving him so much consideration,he deserves no less,in my opinion.

Think the only trouble is is that he wants to be playing regular football. On the other hand, he loves Swansea and wants his coaching badges,

    He'll stay.

Then he's got two years to get his badges.

I hope he stays and has a permanent role at the Club. Good man to have around,I think.

Has to be a loan deal then. Monk deserves a testimonial and a pay day.

I like the idea of a loan. It helps him and the club. Keeps him match fit and ready, we can revisit the loan based our needs in mid season and Monk stays connected and moves towards his testimonial.

Hopefully,Mr.Laudrup will still be here in 2014,and what better tribute to Gary Monk than a testimonial against either Barcelona,or Real Madrid?

I think he will leave. 2 years is a long time to be on loan just to get a testimonial. But it all depends what Monk wants. Sometimes a clean break is better. I'm sure we'll find out very soon.

Unfortunately we are a business and there is no room for sentiment ...even for monk....Im hoping that it will be a loan agreement to Bristol city but if it is not then i can understand, It will be a good move for monk if he wants to carry on playing football as he wont have the opportunity like Tate will have in the next two years. Tate showed he still has something to offer on Tuesday and he is worth keeping for cover..........Lets hope its a loan deal for the next two seasons while he finishes off his badges...

It's not just about sentiment.. It's also about the future. HJ seems to see a lot of potensial in him (coaching wise) and if we need to pay him player wages the next two years to keep him in the club, then so bee it. I don't see a transfer. I do however see potensial loandeal comeing up. I guess we'll see in the next few days :)
