We didn't deal with two set pieces. It did sound as if Bradford should have had a penalty first half.
Well - we might need a bit more time to gell then. Time will be given on my behalf. Late goals are tear jerkers though.
So I'm staying with the girlfriend and steal her laptop for a second and I see we LOST?! Dear me...not very good. How did we play overall? Were we unlucky to ship the last two goal? (obviously we are to blame for switching of etc but I mean before that). Having looked at the team it seems GZ made a few changes, maybe its a blessing, I'd rather do well in the league personally but a cup run is always nice. Well done to Bradford, play to the final whistle!
We've done it enough times in the past to know that generally you can't make 9 or 10 changes to a team and expect to come a way with a positive result, particularly against lower league oppo who want the money from a big payday in the next round. GZ can't be that bothered and nor can the Pozzos. Us? Well 5600 or so says it all... apparently we don't give a stuff. Back to business v Derby County on Saturday methinks.
Can't complain about the goals (and Anya's was great), but I'm at a loss as to how we lost that game. We were our usual goalshy selves, but at no point did Bradford look capable of winning that on anything other than penalties. Still, they were well drilled, and they got their rewards. The natural reaction is that the League Cup doesn't matter, but we are in the unusual situation of wanting to play as many games as possible, to give us a chance to look at the likes of Thompson, Bond, Forsyth and Beleck, while Jenkins probably just played his last game for the club.
It wasn't a penalty. Bradford didn't appeal, the ref looked to the linesman who didn't even blink...not even close. Not sure i entirely agree...we didn't look like we knew what the game plan was for much of the game. The passing was slow and inaccurate, and though there were flashes of inspiration, especially in the second half, especially for the goal, there were some very weak performances, most notably from Jenkins and Beleck, who looked slow and lost the ball fairly frequently. Bond was fab as usual, but the defense was a let down for the goals...and it was a shame that Hogg came off, because Abdi for Jenkins would have been a far better change. Disappointing all round, but to be honest, we never looked like winning it...nor did we particularly deserve to imho. Bring on the league and the cup run in the FA Cup!
