Evening fellow reds. Dimitri Payet, one of the names we have been strongly linked with recently and it seems we may have had him on the radar for a while. I don't know much about him, what do you guys know? Would he be a good signing for under ã10m?
I haven't heard much about him. But from what I know he primarily plays as an attacking midfielder and a winger and is described as a player who is "quick" and "blessed with terrific technique and dribbling skills. If you guys are able to sign him for less than ã10 million, then you've got yourself a deal.
There's strong reports he's on Damien Comolli's radar.Then again Damien Comolli has completed a list that includes 3 targets for each position he and Kenny feel need strengthening and these are (This may sound like I am repeating myself as I made this comment on another article.) Left back. Left wing. Centre back. Right wing. Deep lying playmaker. Striker. Depending on departures,there could be as many as 11 new signings.
I personally believe Liverpool will only make at least one or two signings this upcoming season. There is no chance you guys could introduce eleven new players to your squad next season. Signing a whole new squad will not guarantee you a top four finish in my opinion.
Okay it won't be 11 that would be asking a bit much.But it will be no less than 4 new players thats nailed on.
If you buy any more than 4 players it will hold you back initially as it will take ages for them to gel. A LB, DM, winger and CB is all you should be looking to buy really.
Yeah that's very true. However, i think the plan is to buy youth so they will not all be in the starting 11 next season. I think the rebuilding needs to start with more than 4 signings especially if we end up shipping a load out.

We need players. There is no denying that. I exepct around 4 to 6 players to come in. On the subject of Payet, I haven't heard much about him. So we'll have to wait and see.
Just because a club signs 5-6 players,it doesn't mean that they will play them all at once.Only an idiot would think that.Then again only Man City would do that.
I remember on the first game of the season when Sven was in charge at City I think they had 9 new faces in their starting 11.
I think we will get a LB and a winger that will be injected straight into the starting 11. If we got a CB (Cahill? Rolando? Kjaer? etc) I can see them maybe starting ahead of Skrtel, but unsure who will start when Agger is fit. Assuming that he is still here next season. I cannot see Lucas being replaced in the starting 11 if we were to buy a DM, someone like Defour/M'Vila/Matuidi would sit next to him in a 4-2-3-1 formation as Spearing has done otherwise they will be used as back up/rotational. I think we may get a striker to reinforce Carroll/Kuyt, who? I have no idea. Wouldn't mind if we snatched up our own Hernandez, someone cheap, young and scores goals. But that is easier said than done. I wouldn't rule out a surprise bid for Honda either, despite his recent commitment to CSKA. With the fans they have in russia I wouldn't declare that I was interested in leaving for another club. We may not get any of the the afore mentioned (I haven't won the lottery yet) but I believe it will be an interesting summer.
Suarez and Carroll have settled quickly, then in came Spearing, Robinson and Flanagan. That's five players into the first 11 in a very short time with no adverse effect on performance or results. Add two quality players and four subs for each other position and thats 11, as unlikely as it is. Maybe there's some youngsters included in that rumour. The important thing is the deals are done asap to allow for a solid pre-season.
