Tash, you've just posted 5 times on a thread specifically about Xisco, so I must be storming JPF's special Tash League, seeing as Xisco gives me a 1,000,000 point bonus per mention. <ok>

How much of all this payment/bonus malarkey is pure speculation and rumour?

What we do know is the following:-

    1. He cost over £5m
    2. He has another year left on his contract
    3. He is on somewhere in the region of £50k per week, to not play.
    4. He was a Spanish Under 21 player during that country's golden age.

If I had an expensive asset I would use it, not just put on the back of the cupboard. What's to lodd in putting in the squad for Brugges? Adam Campbell will have his day to be sure. Maybe now it's Xisco time!

Watched plenty of him and just don't rate him at all. In his fleeting appearances for us he has looked average at best. On the basis of ability relative to wages we need to get shot. People are talking about his form with us but lets not forget he has made a lot of loan appearances. He has failed to make any impact at the loan clubs either.

I'm not convinced with this paying a fee next time he plays. 10 games and we have to pay a fee, seems strange. I wouldn't be surprised if he has been frozen out because of his sexuality. Football is not comfortable with the issue. If Pardew has had 5 or 6 in saying they don't want him in the squad, it could well be the case.

On the basis of ability alone I'd rather look at the likes of Campbell.

Would not be the case. If anything like that ever came out it would be a complete disaster for the club. Ashley and Pards would me more likley to put him in the squad to prove a point that face a PR disaster like that.

If we had been guilty of irrationally freezing out a talented player, then surely he would have shone at some point in his last, waht, 3 seasons on the continent, and the clubs he's been loaned to would be begging for the moe to be made permanent. As it is he's failed to impress anywhere he's gone. Hard to see how that could be our fault.

Odd set of comments. The first paragraph points out that he has never looked good or us or, it appears, anyone else. The second paragraph then suggests that the reason he is being frozen out is because of homophobia (of which there is no evidence) rather than lack of talent (the evidence for which is recited in the fisst paragraph).

Have to disagree, hence no player dares come out for fear of being alienated. Football has no fear of PR disasters regarding sexuality, I think that is pretty clear. Eventually the sport will move on and players will be more open. While it remains a taboo subject, it is very easy for clubs to freeze people out and just put it down to a lack of ability or other issues. Particularly if like Xisco, you're not very good. We can't pretend clubs are dealing with this issue well, they're not.

Even Xisco has never actually confirmed he is gay, we just know he is.

Not really odd at all Freddd. The first paragraph points out that I personally don't rate him as a player. I have no idea if those within St James rate him as I'm not party to their thoughts.

The club have been down to the bare bones on several occasions in the striking department. At those times he couldn't even make the bench. I don't know many clubs who pay 5.7m for a striker, pay him a **** load in wages but refuse to use him even when they have nothing else.

I have not accused the club of freezing him out over his sexuality either. I have simply suggested that given footballs ongoing problems with sexuality, which Stevie Wonder can see exist, it would not surprise me if he has been frozen out for that reason. I have then suggested a scenario that we know exists in football clubs. Whereby players uncomfortable with the issue make their feelings known.

Xisco has to be the strangest signing we've ever made.

This lad has never been given a chance yet you never hear him dissing us. How can players like Obertan & Ranger get chance after chance . We have a small squad so I say give him a chance, even if it's only up to the end of his contract. We have nothing to lose and you never know.
I don't believe this story about extra payments after only 9 games. I know we had some numpties at the club at this time but couldn't see the fat controller allowing this for a £5 million asset.

He has lots of chances. Not for us admittedly. None of the clubs he's had chances for want him. I really don't see any reason to look further for a reason than that he is not very good.
