Hoarse now after so much singing and a few pints - but what a great game ! Saints are getting better & better and are so good to watch. Whole team played well again today, all of them, but Puncheon deserves special mention as i just didnt believe that this boy could play this well before this season. Well played Jason - again ! Ramirez is really gelling as a Saints player now and starting to look like the big money signing. But what a dismal performance by Martin Atkinson and his cronies - what a shambles, they shouldnt be allowed to officiate again ! I am usually quite easy going on refs as it isnt easy and they are only human and hence will make mistakes - but this afternoon they robbed us and it was a good job that Saints were so good that it didnt matter, but on another day it may well have. Feel really pissed off for JRod that his excellent finish was disallowed - from where i am in Block 37 that was on-side all day, cant wait to see MOTD2 tonight to see it.
Doing his best to support my claim earlier this month that he's been our player of the season so far. Keep it up Punch!
I'm with you there. Been a huge surprise as well. Did not expect him to play this well and in particular, being a constant threat.
I think even people who supported Puncheon before the season will be surprised with how well he's playing.
You've got Nigel-like levels of motivation, Brendy. When you said that I'll admit I scoffed a touch, thought he'd done well and been good, but not player of the season by any stretch... Ever since then he's been fantastic! I think he and Lallana are in the form of their careers.
Good game lads! You guys played us off the park, I think most of us Toon fans expected that result with the players we had available. Good luck for future games.
Fonte was immense today and my man of the match, I think he's really stepped up to the plate in the last few games.
I am shamed. A year ago Puncheon would've been first out of the door for me. Over rated (mainly by himself) and isolated I'd say he was the last player we'd want in the Prem. So. He's actually quite good when on song. Bless him and Cortese for having the guts to 1) apologise 2) accept and move on. Like I keep saying, we're a nice club
I fear some of your players may have expected the result! Disappointing lack of desire or fight from your lads. Good luck to you too mate, would love to see you return to the beautiful form of last season, until our trip to St. James' of course when I hope you are once again depleted and lacking form!
Thanks, hope Ben Arfa is back soon. Love watching him in action - as long as it's not against Saints! He's a quality player.
We have problems as were highlighted today. Its worrying that we gave Pardew an 8 year deal. Nobody needs to fight anymore, so they don't. He has had a poor second year at all his clubs yourselves included. He is too reliant on big players, and his set pieces are shocking. He has had the same problems at every club. If we continue to lose then some will call for his head. Ramirez and Puncheon were good for you guys today, they stood out. I will be over again in December to watch you guys against Sunderland. You better win that one!
I don't want him gone, his has the longest injury list in the league. But some fans will turn if things continue. Hopefully we will stand by him like you did with Adkins and we can turn it around.
