Rules are .... based on performances in a Swans 1st team shirt (so as to not upset Norway and John Charles getting picked!). It's up to you if you want to base it on servitude also.
Loan players allowed but selection has to be based on their time in our strip (ala Frank Lampard going on to be who he has become).
I have asked this for a couple of years running and it would be interesting to see your thoughts now some of today's heroes are 'established'.

For the record...I have gone for a 4, 2 , 3, 1 Christmas tree set up to suit Tika taka with Sir Michael as manager.

................ Vorm (just ahead of Freestone).......
    ..Rangel...T Smith.....A Williams.....C Coleman..
    .........Bodde/Britton (sorry)..........R James ...............
    ......C Jones .......I Allchurch..........A Curtis...
    .........................Michu................

On the bench would have Roger, Caulker, Taylor, Britton/Bodde, Hernandez, Trundle and Latchford.

It has teeth where needed but an ability to play wonderful football straight from the back.

YOUR FLOOR.......feel free to disagree as swimaway is back from his sef imposed exile to take your comments onboard.

Everybody is probably still in bed. I would like to put forward Tony Millington and Len Allchurch for consideration.

Millington good option for goalie (and I would be concerned if u didnt pick him!), but would you replace Cliff Jones or Curt with Len A? Anyone disagree with Mich and Ivor playing off another in the middle / up front?

Vorm: Robbie James: Ante Rajkovic: Ash: Jimmy Hadziabdic.

    Bodde: Curtis:

Cliff Jones: Ivor Allchurch: Leighton James:

    Latchford:

I've taken a few liberties to accommodate players I felt had to be included. For instance, the understanding Jimmy had with Leighton James was incredible, so I've moved Cliffy Jones, the best, the fastest, winger I've ever seen, to the right. He was so good he could cope with that.

Robbie at right back? Well he played there at the end of his career and did fine. Robbie liked a tackle and I could see him causing havoc with his surging runs down the flank and link up play with Cliff.

Ante and Jimmy had to be in the back four. Imagine having to get past Bodde and then face the prospect of Ante in front of you? Frightening!! When Tosh picked his two best teams he selected Ante in his side because he feared the prospect of being marked by him in a game. Oh, and Ante could play good football as well.

Up front, Latch just shades Michu. He was a lethal striker who scored at the top level for many years including international games. He was immensely strong, two footed, great in the air and had a poacher's instinct. In short, a superb natural goal scorer.

So, in summary, my team had blinding pace and trickery on the flanks. A spine of steel from Latchford, through Bodde to Ante; huge attacking potential from full back and I haven't even discussed Ivor and Curt. We all know what they could do!!!

My subs. First has to be Mel Charles who is unlucky not to make the team. He was so versatile, like his brother and could play in the back four, defensive midfield or up front if required. He once scored four goals against Northern Ireland. Great all round cover. Then we have Freestone; Michu; Coleman; Pablo; Chico and Leon.

I'd be happy with that team but I have a feeling that I've missed something. In fact I know I have because a good case could be made for the likes of Lenny Allchurch, Terry Medwin and others.

It's hard to disagree with Ivor's team but I would definitely pick Len Allchurch ahead of Pablo, he hasn't done enough yet to justify selection for me and I always thought Len was underrated, maybe because his brother was so good.

A very strong team, and I wouldn't make many, if any changes. The idea to play RJ right back, for the reasons you've given, is a top choice and makes for a more attacking team. The only possible change I would make is to replace Curtis with Britton, but it's a close call.

Great minds think alike. I really like Ivor's team, and it almost mirrors mine.

In my line-up Mel Charles would get the nod over Ashley Williams, and my preferred goalkeeper(s) would be either Jimmy Rimmer,or Tony Millington.

Yes, Vetch, it was touch and go between big Mel and Ash to partner iron man Ante. I was looking at things from a squad perspective and went for Ash to start because Mel covered so many options from the bench. He could play equally well as a centre back, centre forward or midfielder. Fabulous to have that sort of quality, almost blanket cover from one player, on the bench.

As for the keeper, agree that both Rimmer and Millington have great claims to be included.

The simple truth is Ivor, that we are spoilt for choice.
    Len Allchurch;Tommy Smith;Tommy Craig;Mel Nurse;Tommy Hutchinson;Lee Trundle;plus some of the current squad,can't get a look in.
I think we could produce at least two teams that would more than hold their own in P.L.

No surnames required for those legends!!!!!!!!!

On this point I've seen a few supporters with t-shirts and sweatshirts with their all time 11 printed on. Does anyone know where I can get one?

I disagree. Now I know Leon plays a more holding role but the Stats say it all, great player though Leon is. Curtis played 354 games for the Swans, scored 96 goals. Leon has played 382 or thereabouts, scored 18. Nuff said.
