A stark fact came to light today that, when Debuchy makes his debut against Norwich he will be the 30th different player to play for the first team this season in all competitions.

This clearly shows up how bad our injury problems have been, although some of the appearances will be relating to the weakened teams put out in the Europa.

    The full list is.....

    Krul, Tim 18
    Coloccini, Fabricio 15 (+1)
    Santon, Davide 24
    Cabaye, Yohan 11 (+2)
    Simpson, Danny 16 (+1)
    Williamson, Mike 21
    Anita, Vurnon 18 (+3)
    Cisse, Papiss 20 (+2)
    Ben Arfa, Hatem 13
    Perch, James 18 (+3)
    Gosling, Dan 2 (+1)
    Taylor, Ryan 0 (+1)
    Amalfitano, Romain1 (+1)
    Gutierrez, Jonas 17
    Ba, Demba 19 (+1)
    Bigirimana, Gael 7 (+9)
    Elliot, Rob 4
    Marveaux, Sylvain 7 (+9)
    Ameobi, Shola 8 (+11)
    Tiote, Cheick 17 (+1)
    Obertan, Gabriel 8 (+8)
    Taylor, Steven 12 (+2)
    Ameobi, Sammy 4 (+8)
    Vuckic, Haris 2
    Ranger, Nile 0 (+3)
    Ferguson, Shane 6 (+6)
    Tavernier, James 3 (+1)
    Harper, Steve 5 (+1)
    Abeid, Mehdi 1

It also serves to emphasise how important a strong development pool of players is to back up first team injuries..... something I hope is continued to address within our overall recruitment strategy.

Quite a list of players given we are only just past the half way mark......

Not sure where these stats have come from but Mehdi Abeid made a sub appearance aswell, I think it was against Swansea

Nevertheless that is pretty bad. Soon to be 31 players used in half a season. I bet the other squads in Europe don't come close to this!!

Forgot about that so it would appear that Ranger was 30th and that Debuchy will be 32nd.... Jesus Christ!

Abeid started against Brighton but was subbed at half time by Ranger.

Williamson is 2nd for most appearances. Might go someway to explaining our season (aside form the bovious BA Cisse conflict).
