Colo confirms he wants to leave in January

So San Lorenzo have given up, well what a surprise, doesn't change the fact that Colo will still want to leave due to his "personal problems".
Seems to me that if the club stands firm, and it appears that they are, then inseams to me that Colo only has the following options open to him.

1 Stay at NUFC and find a solution to his problem
2 Move to another Argentinian club who can afford his true value, provided we agree to sell him in then first place
3 go AWOL and have the club sue him and block him from playing for anyone else
4 Play like rubbish and sulk, in which case, he can rot on the bench

If l were him, l know which option l would take. Lets hope that with support from the club, his friends and family, things can be sorted out.

 

Yeah... Strangely better than before... Maybe we should send all the player's spouses to Argentina!

Mapou Yanga-M’Biwa arrival won't affect Fabricio Coloccini

THE signing of Mapou Yanga-M’Biwa does not necessarily mean Fabricio Coloccini will leave Newcastle this month - according to the Argentinian’s father.

Osvaldo Coloccini revealed in a radio interview in Argentina that his son could well stay on Tyneside for another four months, which would be seen as a compromise on both sides.

Asked if the signing of Yanga-M’Biwa signalled the immediate end of the 30-year-old’s Newcastle career, Coloccini senior said: “No, because they were already looking for a central defender, an alternative.

“On Monday they held a meeting (with the player’s representatives) that did not finish because they decided to pause for a rest. They are going to continue the meeting (this week) and I think they are going to take the decision.”

San Lorenzo are the club that want Coloccini, who says he wants to return home for family reasons.

Coloccini senior said: “Fabricio is very anxious and very nervous. He wants a decision.

“He’s in the middle between San Lorenzo and Newcastle and he wants a decision. The lack of a decision makes him nervous as a footballer and as a person. Maybe it causes complications with his ability to deliver on the pitch as well.”

The Newcastle supporters have not turned on a player who has served the club superbly well.

This is something Coloccini has appreciated. His father said: “He tells me that the people in the street thank him for everything he has done and they sing his name in the stadium.

“What is happening is that because of a personal situation he has indicated he wants to come to San Lorenzo.”

Asked what Newcastle have demanded, Osvaldo said: “That he stays until May. Fabricio will wait until May, but it remains to be seen if San Lorenzo will wait until May.

“I hope tomorrow the situation will soon be solved one way or the other.”

I'm very curious to know what kind of "personal reasons" were so pressing that he urgently needed to return to Argentina in the middle of the season before, but now suddenly can wait another four months?

Maybe Pardew is right -- maybe we can change his mind.

(So much for the sick wife story. Presumably she'll have one foot in the grave by the time he strolls back to Argentina at the end of the season.....)

Just wondering -- as Osvaldo works for San Lorenzo, is he allowed to be publicly "persuading" his son to go to that club? Isn't there some kind of conflict of interest here?

One sensible thing the man does say -- that Colo is "very anxious and very nervous" which I think is obvious to all of us when we see him play now. I do feel sorry for him as I don't know where the pressure is coming from, but I don't believe this is all his own idea. If he was planning to go back home, it makes no sense that he bought a family home in Newcastle just a few months ago.

Something is very strange about this whole thing.

Never doubted Colo's commitment and to be fair this was never going to happen, let alone in this window.

If we get Sissoko in as well as the other 4 lads, 2 who are all but officially ours this will have been a very good Janurary transfer window.

Newcastle's hopes of keeping hold of captain Fabricio Coloccini have received a major boost after Argentinian club San Lorenzo announce he will not be joining them.

Magpies officials have been locked in talks with Coloccini's representatives this week after the defender stated his desire to return to the club where his father, Osvaldo, is currently a youth coach.

"Finally, after long negotiations, we announce that Fabricio Coloccini will not join the roster of San Lorenzo," they Tweet. "It is not possible to release the Newcastle player.. and therefore the club will look for another alternative to strengthen the defence."

A relieved Fabricio Colocini announced today that his widely publicised request to leave for "personal reasons" was a desparate ploy on his part to force Mike Ashley to purchase a senior Centre Back. Having seen 3 transfer windows come and go without the arrival of defensive reinforcements, Colocinni decided the only way to safeguard the club's future was to threaten Ashley with the loss of his services. Now that the club has responded by signign Mbiwa, captain Colo is delighted to commit his future again to the magpie cause.

At the news conference, Colocinni junior gave special thanks to his father for acting like such a **** in public in order to assist in the ruse.

Fabricio Coloccini is heading out of Newcastle United after he told officials he does not want to play another game for the club.
The 31-year-old captain now plans to leave Tyneside in his desire to return home to Argentina as he bids to deal with "personal matters". Coloccini's wife is already believed to have returned home to Argentina.
Talks had taken place earlier this week between Coloccini's representatives and officials from Newcastle in a bid to broker a peace deal where the central defender would stay at St James' Park until the end of the season, at which point his position would be reassessed.
However, after extensive discussions they failed to reach agreement and now the player is set to quit.
In the background to all this was the vocal interest of the Argentinian side San Lorenzo, for whom Coloccini played on loan in the 2000-01 season. Coloccini's father Osvaldo also works at the club.
They have not been able to find the funding to buy the player from Newcastle, who are currently embroiled in a fight for their Premier League future. Coloccini's £60,000-a-week salary is way out of their budget. They were similarly unable to negotiate a transfer fee for the player.
A statement from the Argentinian club confirmed defeat in their ambitious attempts to sign the Newcastle captain.
"Finally, after long negotiations, we announce that Fabricio Coloccini will not join the roster of San Lorenzo," it read. "It is not possible to release the Newcastle player, and therefore the club will look for another alternative to strengthen the defence."
That was seen in some quarters as offering the possibility of Coloccini staying at Newcastle. However, the player, who first told club officials of his desire to quit Tyneside on 10 January, has instead reaffirmed his decision to end his four-and-a-half years at St James' Park.
Coloccini was signed for £10.3 million from Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna when Kevin Keegan was in charge in 2008. Newcastle were relegated to the Championship that season but he excelled during the following campaign when Newcastle won promotion and then established himself as one of the most cultured central defenders in the Premier League the season after.
He signed a new Newcastle contract in March 2012 and was voted into the PFA team of the year, but the last few months have been troubled for the Argentine and he now plans to return home. Coloccini does not intend to play against Aston Villa in Tuesday's crucial relegation battle at Villa Park – their next game – but Newcastle could have half a new team in place by then.
The Bordeaux forward Yoan Gouffran will be unveiled this morning after a fee was agreed between Newcastle and the Ligue 1 side. The 26-year-old has scored 12 goals in France this season and has signed a four-and-a-half year contract.
Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is almost certain to start the game following his £6.7m move from French champions Montpellier. Mathieu Debuchy will play his second game following his £5m switch from Lille.
Defender Massadio Haïdara is also on the brink of moving to St James' Park from Nancy and Alan Pardew's side are battling with Arsenal for the signature of the promising 19-year-old Bastia midfielder Florian Thauvin.
Yanga-Mbiwa, the 23-year-old France international with three caps for his country to his name, and had also attracted interest from Arsenal, believes he has signed for a club who can fight for a Champions League place when the influx of new players have settled.
"In the long term people talk about the top four in the Premier League but in the players we have on board, and the manager we have, we can definitely consider closing that gap," the central defender, who can also play as a full-back said.
"With the manager's ideas, we can consider the top four or top six. Looking in the longer term we can hope to challenge for the title. Why not?
"I will do everything I can to help team spirit and make sure we are acting as one from the first minute until the last. Last year at Montpellier nobody expected that we would win the league but we had the mentality and solidity to do it with a good team spirit.
"The Premier League is the biggest league in the world and one of those leagues that everybody watches. One of the reasons I came here was to find out how good I am and to fulfil one of my dreams."

Hearing he's retired from football in order to leave.

 

If that's even true then it's pretty ****ty of him to do that because everyone knows a player can come out of retirement for any club at any time (Paul Scholes), dependant on fitness and age, but it's not like he's 40.

Why would he announce his definite departure on the same day as his father confirmed he's staying at Newcastle till the end of the season?

 

Not a clue what is going on but what I do know is the club should get FIFA involved and drag his dad and San Lorenzo over the coals for tapping up.
