Craig Bellamy has been banned from driving for six months after admitting failing to declare he was the driver when his car was caught on a speed camera.

    They must be soooooo proud

Very proud of him declaring his intention of him continuing his playing career with Wales as every Welshman should be as he is one of our all time best players. His work ethic is second to none. Your post is so trivial, petty and meaningless, why bother writing something so **** about a true Welsh footballing legend (who also speaks highly of Swansea BTW)?

I have no idea how old you are, but please get a sense of history before you type **** like that. He's a decent player, not world class, nor even close to it, but in a mediocre squad which is Wales he shines.

"Your post is so trivial, petty and meaningless".

With all due respect,Clash, that could describe an awful lot of posts that have been made by many of your peers, both here, and on the old BBC site.
I don't seem to remember you complaining about any of them,so this complaint of yours doesn't have much credibility, when you think about it.
Also, had a Swansea player suffered the same fate as Bellamy,a similar post would have probably come from one of your lot.

But hey, nobody died and Bellamy can afford to hire a driver.

If he's not world class then he's not even close to being "one of our all time best players".

I met him once when on holiday in Florida. He saw me walking towards him wearing my Swans shirt from about 20 yards away. To be fair he started grinning saw the look on my face so he knew what was coming and reached out to shake my hand when he got to about 6 feet away from me. This was a few weeks after we won the play off final.
He congratulated us and said he was really pleased a Welsh team would be in the Premier League and that after Cardiff he would always have wanted the Swans to go up instead. A lot of it with Bellamy is front and he clearly doesn't take **** from anyone but when you get past all that I found him to be a decent enough bloke. We had a chat about football for about 10 minutes and he didn't have to do that.

Apart from the likes of John Charles, I can only comment on players that have played for Wales in the last 30 years or so and yes I would certainly put Craig Bellamy in the class of one of our best, alongside the likes of Rush, Hughes, Giggs, Bale. FFS, his 70+ caps speak for themselves and he has always given everything to the cause, playing in far flung **** holes in friendlies, unlike some of the others. So, when there's 2 headlines about Bellamy on the BBC sport Wales pages, its just a great shame that you lot chose to pick up on the meaningless one that has nothing to do with sport as opposed to the one where he declares that he will continue playing for his country! BTW, in Wales we haven't had many world class players.....ever so your second response makes no sense either!

Actually we had a whole squad of players that got to the quarter finals of the World Cup ... some better than others, a lot better perhaps, but nonetheless a good many could be considered world class - at that level two players don't make a team.

And I would agree with you, Bellamy in general is a very pleasant and affable individual contrary to how he might sometimes be portrayed in the media.

"it's just a great shame that you lot chose to pick up on the meaningless one".

Actually,Clash, the post was made by ONE person and not by a "lot".

I wonder what your reaction would have been had Bellamy hit a member of your family,a friend,or even your good self.
    Somewhat different,I suspect.

As regards Bellamy's ability,I haven't seen him play in the flesh. I saw one game in the olympics, and he stood out,but as to his status amongst the true greats of Welsh football, well,I am unable to make a judgement.
But he does have a lot of competition.

Premierpaul, Congrats on catching the Clash. Clash ur out of touch dude..talk about rising! Are the 606 days forgotten? We have all had points on the license etc.

However Bellamy an ALL TIME GREAT/LEGEND???...a good Welsh/loyal'ish' player that only shone due to the fact there was a dirth of Welsh talent at his supposed "peak". Any surprise he has taken a sabbatical now the new breed are coming through? I would too, if I was him at his age...makes the absence of any Welsh striker make him look awesome and build his media career....yeah, real Welsh Legend by no showing, just when the young defence and midfield start to look the business.

PS Bellamys foundations. What they seem or just another Cardiff tax dodge/break??....discuss.

    PPS Welcome back!

Any man who pumps money into helping kids in developing nations deserves the title of legend.

So in reply to the OP, yes I am "soooooo" proud of our Bellers

Rubber: Taxes pay for your dole and the millions of others on benefits but because it's Bellamy it's good on him if he's tax dodging?

You can tell Cardiff are doing well when The Disappeared start appearing again. Here we go. <doh>
