Shola is more of a supporting striker yet he has scored more goals than Cole who plays as a lone striker. So definitely a waste of money if we buy Cole. And Ba seems to be good but I think that it may be a massive gamble if ever his knee is f*cked up.

If I was Pardew I'd invest massively in the midfield area cos most of the time our service to our strikers is really really poor. Nolan doesn't seem to be able to play the killer pass and although Tiote is a defensive rock, most of the time he chooses the back-pass. So our only threat at the moment is from our wingers and when Jonas and Barton can't get a cross in, we end up goaless cos we don't have a plan B...:bandit:

  4. Well i agree Shola has done better this season than Carlton Cole.

But I wish people would stop saying 29 apps and 9 goals. Don't include the cup goals when judging his season. 2 against Chelsea reserves and 1 against Accrington Stanley.

27 apps and 6 goals is his real stat, and 2 of those 6 goals were pens and 1 was a flukey tap in vs Wigan.

A Team with Benayoun, Zhirkov, Terry, Alex, Sturridge and Anelka is hardly Chelsea reserves. He's not brilliant by any means but you have to give him some credit and he's definitely better than Carlton Cole

    Dear Wendy,

If Newcastle United sign Carlton Cole I'll personally come up to Newcastle and shove a 7 foot scaffolding pole up Llambias's arse.

I know what you're thinking; that would be hilarious and I'm sure it would be. Imagine if we filmed it and put it on youtube? People may even pay to watch it!

I've digressed a tad and perhaps even put a positive slant on the potential of signing him but I just wanted to state my anger and dismay if he is signed.

    Regards,

If there ever was a time to turn to God, that time is now. Leon Best is far better than Carlton Cole IMO.

Please God, I beg that we don't waste our money on Carlton Cole. We need a proven goalscorer who can score on a regular basis. We're replacing Judas, not Shola or Lovenkrands.

Too old, wouldn't fit in with our youth policy. We need someone aged around 20-25.

He's free though, that will appeal to Ashley? What about Rodallega? Especially if the rumours of N'Zogbia are true?

I'm not being OTT here: I'd say he's probably the worst first team striker in the Premier League. He's absolutely dreadful.

I'd rather take Demba Ba for £7m than Carlton Cole. He may have dodgy knees, but an injured Demba Ba would still be better than a 100% fit Carlton Cole.
