Not in Oz - the Wallabies are the left-overs who couldn't get a League contract! And many a League player winds down his playing career by returning to Union.

Was meaning more UK side there are more that go from league to union than the other way round!

Would be interesting to see say Guiness prem champs play 2 games with there league counterparts 1 half union rules and 1 half league!

I remember a few years back when London wasps played london monarchs (american footy) that was interesting!

A few years ago, the Oz League & Union teams took on such a challenge. The Union team came a very distant second.

In a similar vein, there is an annual series of matches between Ireland and Oz in which they play a hybrid mixture of Aussie Rules and Gaelic Football. The Irish prove to be quite handy at it too.

Did anyone else see Swansea's third goal last night - you can't blame Forest for pushing everyone including their keeper forward but it makes long range goals like that :)

Yes I did and with 3 minutes left ,I thought it was lunacy, especially I think it was earnshaw did an air kick and fell over allowing the swans to break!
Crass stupidity! Camp is a quality keeper ,but that was one hell of a self made clanger! Worth noting Forest had 2 more corners after that goal !!

Would have been ironic for an ex Cardiff man to come back and deny his fellow countrymen

If todgers wasnt the boss ,I`d like to see the swans go up , If we have to have one welsh mob promoted rather them then Baadiff!
I would have thought you would want both welsh teams to stay down, gives you two watford games you can easily get too!!!

If it weren't Reading I would agree - but I cannot forgive them - they deliberately stole our manager - the fact that in the end we did better out of it is no thanks to them - they should roast in hell :)

I'd not heard of John Harbin but Wikipedia informs me he was a coach at Wakefield.

Might have something to do with there fans on 606 were similar to us , the fact that they hate todgers as much as we do,so a certain amount of solidarity there!
and the fact that if they hadnt of sacked him they would be in league 1, What todgers successor has done has been miraculous!!

Reading are similar to Watford in many ways , they had Sir Mad and his money and they were wiser with their cash than we were with ours!

    Couldn't agree more!

Whilst I'll watch Union it seems to me that there's more skill and it's much faster in League. Union seems to be about getting penalties rather than scoring tries (Saracens won on Sunday without even scoring a try - just 4 penalties).

In League, if you have a good kicker the 40-20 rule can gain you possession after your set of six whereas Union it's kicking for touch and handing the ball to the opposition for the line out. The play of the ball is also quicker in League.

The reason it doesn't get the high profile here is because the press and media (in particular BBC & ITV) seldom report on League preferring Union. The Super League Show on BBC gets moved around the schedules every week, often being shown after midnight - and that's in an area with plenty of League clubs! Results are sometimes given out on radio 5 but not always! People up here also suggest that because it's mainly a Southern based sport Union is profiled greater than the Northern sport of League which in the main is played across the M62 corridor.

.... but we never stole anyone else's manager - makes them unforgiveable scum. Cardiff are just another neutral for me.
