I'm sick of the fact that some people, even Newcastle fans, believe that it's right to claim that Krul hasn't been as spectacular as last season or hasn't lived up to expectations, and they use the amount of goals we conceded as evidence.

The only goal this season I'd say he could be blamed for was the **** goal kick that lead to Swansea's first goals against us at SJP. Apart from that, he's not done anything wrong. The amount of goals we conceded have mainly been due to injuries, and also poor defending at times.

Krul has done well in most cases he's been called upon. His handling has been fantastic this season, the amount of claims and aerial challenges he's done well has been great. He comes out and cuts out passes well.

Other keepers have been put above him this season, and Krul has gone down a lot of peoples opinions undeservedly.

This is not a reaction to last nights game, it's a reaction to the fact that since Krul has come back from his injury, he's been very good in most of his games. He's probably saved us a few results by himself, last night and against Villa especially!

He's not had a good of a season because he's been behind a decimated defence for long parts of the season.

Last night would have been 3-1 if it wasn't for Krul. He was excellent last night.

It was nice of the referee to make Our Tim not feel excluded last evening by showing him a card too.

Newcastle United can confirm that Tim Krul was assessed by Club medical staff on Friday and sent for a scan on Friday afternoon after sustaining an ankle injury in Thursday night's Europa League match against Metalist Kharkiv in the Ukraine.
Krul is now scheduled to see an ankle specialist on Monday for a further assessment, after which time the Club should be able to provide another update.

I personally think Tim is a top class keeper and would hope he's here for a while, however, I believe some of the big boys will come along and offer big bucks which Ashley will accept. Thankfully we have some decent keepers coming thru' in Alnwick and although very young I predict big things for Woodman.

Disagree massively. Had a bad run of form and his level dropped below his best this season. Pretending otherwise is ignoring the glaringly obvious to me. By his standards there are several goals he could have done better with. Its no good blaming the defence, he is part of it afterall. His kicking needs work and when we were out of nick, he played his part by going long.

Class is permanent though and its shows the quality of the man that he has come flying out the other side. Still one of the best around for his age. I never lost faith in the lad and firmly believe he'll end up one of the best. You have to accept rough patches with keepers, even more so with young ones.

Disagree massively? Sorry, but he has still made a collection of superb saves this season.

In terms of him being part of the defence, he can only do his job, and it's not as if a big portion of the goals that we've conceded could be even partially blamed on Tim Krul.

Before his injury I'd say I'd definitely agree that he didn't look as impressive, but since he came back from injury in December he was been fantastic for the most part. Saved us a few results and kept us in games.

My point is that he's remained a top class keeper, and there are maybe 2 goals in which you could have blamed Krul on. He can only keep us in certain games, but if the defence cocks up you can't expect the last man to save you every time.

His all round ability has still been good, apart from his kicking. I think he set a high standard last season, and I don't think it's fair to judge him too harshly if he hasn't been as spectacular this season.

Sorry but for there have been quite a few that have gone in that he could have done better with. Not horrendous keeping by average standards, but he is not average. He has proven himself top class and needs to be judged against that standard for me. I wouldn't say has been poor, he has just been average which is not what he is capable of.

The defenders undoubtedly have made some terrible errors but Krul is better than he has shown too. He has to accept his fair share for me.

He himself has noted he's been disappointed with his own form. You have to judge him harshly for me because he is so good. He will have his standards, they'll be very high. Don't get me wrong, if I was his manager I wouldn't be going off the deep end, that will do no good. But just judging tis seasons form against what he is capable of, he has been average. Blaming goals on individuals is normally misguided. It is normally a combination of factors. Krul, Willo, Colo, Santon, Tiote have made errors individually and collectively.

Hmm, not sure. Which big team needs a keeper?

Manure - I can't see them admitting mistake with De Gay
Chelski - Coutois for when Cech goes
Citeh - Hart is quality, and even if Mankini axes him, he'd go for a big continental name, not Krul
Arse - Szczczczczczczezczczcczczny (not sure of the spelling) is young and quality
Spuds - Lloris, don't need another keeper
Liverpool - Don't think they'll spend big on anyone, let alone a GK

All the big team across the channel have quality keepers, I really can't think of any who would need to sign Krul, except possibly Real, but as with City, they'd go for a bigger name.

I'm with Tash on this. Krul has been great . His kicking is horrible though , but is a small price to pay for him to continue making great saves to keep us in games. And what's more , his kicking can be worked on.

I'm now really worried at the prospect of facing teams without Krul in our lineup.

I'll give Harps all the credit for his loyalty and whatnot, loves the club yeah, but at the end of the day, compared to Krul, I have to say he's ****e.

Kruls great on the line, but his kicking is terrible.

Weimann is a player we should pick up if Villa get relegated. Terrific player.

Oh come on - - do you get some sort of pleasure at calling players ****e ?

Harper is a competent journeyman keeper. He is not as good a Krul, but in no way does he deserve to be called ****e
