My congratulations to everyone associated with Stoke City Football Club for what for me has been a tremendous season. Thanks for the pleasure (and pain) Here's hoping to do it all again but slightly better next season. Tony Pulis manager of the season, Jermaine or Matty for player, Thanks also to all the posters who have kept me entertained be it here or on the old 606, thank you everyone, from a very proud expat who can wear his shirt with pride around the streets of Crete (and even be recognised as a Stokie now) Cheers!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::emoticon-0103-cool::emoticon-0103-cool: UTP KTF

Well the end to Stoke's great season kind of left me with a bitter pill to swallow. Losing the FA Cup final was kind of expected as we were up against a £312 million side. To field the dead wood in the repeat fixture on Tuesday was an insult to the travelling fans. Then today we were totally useless again.
The minute Pulis took off matty I said to my daughter that's it Wigan will score now.
Why does Pulis do this virtually every bleeding game. We are steady chugging along then he upsets the balance by taking off an attacking player to bring on a defensive midfielder and let them attack us for the last 20 minutes.
The same tactic cost us a semi final place in the Carling Cup when we were winning at Westham.

I actually feel more gutted today losing to Wigan than I did last week losing the FA Cup.

Stoke need to spend big in the Summer on at least 6 players no less. We need a midfield, a proven goal scorer, a left back and a decent centre half as cover for Huth and Ryan.

If we are to figure in the Europa League our wafer thin squad will not be able to cope.

3 Year plans up Tony now clear out the deadwood and bring in some quality!

    Rant Over!!!

I to am disappointed with the result today but the way i see it we get to play Wigan again next season and the 2 games are worth a few points to us so i guess it isnt too bad :emoticon-0100-smile

Weve played some absolute gash football this season, and weve played some absolute quality, ill never forget the Wembley game against Bolton!!! Either way its all added up to another season in the best league in the world! Lets not forget that were also playing in Europe next year :D

Yes we do need alot of work on the squad and im sure TP knows what to do, bring on the transfer season.

we seemed to fade at the last hurdle and it shows what happens when we get a couple of key injuries.Huth has been outstanding all season and with him at his peak it breeds confidence throughout the entire team.Matty also not yet back to full fitness.Next season we need to have better quality on the bench.

The clubs profile has now been raised and this will help attract better quality players. Before the final we had reached our peak winning at will with excellent home wins v Newcastle,Arsenal,Wolves and the Semi Final.

Overall its been a remarkable season and two visits to Wembley and Europa Cup Qualification has really capped it all off.

Looking at the points tally and taking into account the bad decisions early part of the season we could have been sitting far higher.

I think with being in the Europa league we need to really strengthen the squad and get rid of the dead wood. We might struggle to keep our key players fit with so many games next season so we need more depth to our squad.
