Most of those premier league ones will renew their contracts, retire or go to other Premier League clubs. There's also the question of wages. I admire your optimism though.

Some of those Championship ones are worth a sniff. Adkins will be aware of what's available, what's realistic and what's value for money.

There's quite a lot of deadwood in that lot too, so we need to be cautious.

If the Jordan Mutch at Birmingham is the one Watford had on loan last year, then he is quality. I saw him play a couple of times last year and was impressed.

Danns obviously would be a good signing.

 

oh and just for old times sake....Everton's Iain Turner.... there's only one Iain Turner, one Iain Turner.

 

Neal trotman would be good for us...........Is he out of contract?

 

I totally Agree beddy, Trotman and Fonte would be awesome for us. He's a mini Jaidi in the making. Maybe Rhadi could take him under his ample wing and teach him how to dominate a big Championship Centre Forward.

 

Jay Bothroyd made his England debut last year - he defo wants to leave Cardiff - mid table prem team i guess will get him

 

I was going to mention Mutch, but Birmingham will probably renew his deal now that they have gone down.

 

Burke is set to leave Cardiff, might be worth a shout, but not sure he wants to play second fiddle. TBH not much from the premier league looks realistic, and thos that are realistic don't particularly excite me.

On second thoughts, wouldn't it be better doing this when the retained lists are out? Or are they already and i've missed something? From the championship I think McIndoe and Elliot could do a job as back up wingers.

 

I'm sure NA has a wish list from which he and NC will try and get a couple of players. Ex-Prem players will be fine, but only if they fit in with the team. There is a good team spirit at the moment which needs to be carried into next season. A good team will often beat a team of good individual players. Haven't we seen this in the past with Saints. Sometimes on paper we were miles better than the opposition, but we got beaten or held to a draw by lower league sides who played as a team. My guess is that we may get players in who initially underwhelm us and then we see Nigel's plan.
