Thing is, he's been giving the impression that his players are 'whiter than white' for so long, they no doubt believe that they can get away with anything. Hence Rooney's GILF experiences, Ferdinand's non-appearance at scheduled drug tests, and now Giggs' appearance in newspapers.

Same at Chelsea - where Terry, Cole, etc escape censure for any misdeed, even to the point of turning up to training with a gun and shooting apprentices. Same at Man City - where throwing darts at people from a window is perfectly acceptable, but somehow, not being on a bus is a terrible crime.

It would be better for Ferguson to be a little more in tune with the general populus, who still believe that when a married man with kids chooses to shag around, that's not something to condone.

 

Fergie answered the question well, but why so coy about Ryan's undoubted talents?
He could have mentioned that he certainly knows where the goal is, is great with his head and of course away goals count double.

I think it's totally fair enough.. Where Giggsy chooses to put his todger is of no interest to me and has nothing to do with Fergie and nothing to do with football..The Journo knew that when he asked the question and was just trying to get a rise out of him, so as far as I'm concerned he can just sod right off. The whole "scandal" is quite puerile and depressing if you ask me.
