Ha Ha. Is it still April 1st? I can smell a wind-up even from here in Colchester.

I heard this rumour from a usually fairly reliable source a couple of months ago. I would not be surprised to see GT as Director of football next season as I do not think he (like us watching) has enjoyed this season very much. The often unreliable football rumours site has mentioned Danny Wilson as our manager next year. With us now effectively safe in League 1 the club should move immediately to inform us if a change is to be made.

I must admit to agree to Greenhousmeadowmans point that GT looks less animated this season.

I did say a few month or so ago that RW must be near the time of retirement so this rumor doesn't surprise me at all, but why would they put GT as director of football for gods sake and get another manager in?...well if they do get a consortium we'll be f-----, that's for sure as their will be far too many fingers in the pot. But whatever happens GT must now hang up his crombie and look for a more tranquil life as i think the fight as gone out of him. If our policy next year is going to be the same, to have players come here for free that no other club wants and then add a few loanees to make up the numbers, ill put in for the bloody job, because it wont be that difficult do.

GT won't have enjoyed this season that's for sure, but can you see him wanting to leave on the back of an 18th place finish, if that? A career like his deserves some kind of swansong.

I think GT will carry on. Why not? His age seems to be an issue for some fans but I suspect that masks a restlessness - unless we're on a good run we all like to see the team or something else freshened up, although it doesn't often make much real difference. If you've got a good manager then age makes no difference. And we've got a good manager. The time for change will come but it doesn't need to be now.

As for Roland's plans, who knows? All I'd say is any big change there is unlikely to happen quickly, so it's not surprising it's been talked about for a while. Any business owner should always have an exit strategy and I'm sure a new owner could take over, if the deal was right. I'd be very surprised if Roland wasn't still in charge when the new season starts.

its not so much GT's age, its more of RW & GT's strategy, if we are going to have the same crap next season I hope he goes, and I know the time will come for RW to sell up, and I know he's a stingy old t---, but better the devil you know than the one you don't, but I think a new manager will breath a bit of fresh air into the club....hopefully

It was never going to match up to last season football-wise. New pool, bigger fish - we survived, job done. Build from here. You expect too much so it's no wonder you can't seem to enjoy any of it.
