I could be mistaken, and if I am I apologise, but has their been a thread on players who we would actually want to sign for next season?

I see left, right and centre threads about players we definitely don't want to see, and everyone saying Derry and Hill should stay, but can we actually discuss which players we would like to see come into our team for next season?

I personally would not want us to sign a load of Premier players who haven't made it. I would like us to sign a few players who have something to prove, and some who have hunger.

Harry Forrester at Brentford (if they don't come up) as one. Harry Maguire at Sheff United would be a very good signing in my eyes. Can we discuss any others perhaps?

I feel Austin and Hooper especially will be out of our price range for "consolidating" and going back up. Both will be minimum of £5mil plus wages.
I thought about Phil Neville also on a year deal, but I think him and Shaun Derry are very similar and would rather keep Derry.

I rate Donaldson, he's a hungry striker and i'm pleased you agreed with Forrester. I'd like to see us perhaps get Nick Powell on loan for a season, get him some match practice. Maybe also a young centre back on loan from a good prem team, we've seen how Caulker evolved into a good player from his loan spell at Bristol City, just like Joel Ekstrand has been class for Watford (although he did come from Udinese).

Yes but I think 5m is what we are gonna need to spend to get that guy who can spearhead our attack....which will be very much weakened once remy cisse and probably/hopefully Zamora leave. I reckon it would be a good investment anyway as English talent is always re-sellable. If not these. Guys who would you hope for then?

Apart from Neville and Bridge I've never heard of any of these players.

I don't think that's a terrible thing though, who had heard of Jamie Mackie before we signed him? Harry Forrester is a younger, hungrier and potentially a better version of Mackie, currently playing at Brentford (only 22). Clayton Donaldson is probably a bit old, he's 29 and I would prefer us to go for someone else instead, James Collins at Swindon (22) might not be a terrible shout, he's a goalscorer for sure.

Harry Maguire from Sheff United is a young centre back, only 20 years old. I've been keeping an eye on him for last few seasons and he's going to be a prem player. Hopefully if we can buy him this summer he'll be able to develop next to a more experienced head.

Dwight Gayle at Peterborough has been mentioned, again young and hungry and wouldn't be too expensive.

From the Prem - I would be looking to take a few players from the clubs nearer the bottom who'll be clearing out, but ones who wouldn't be a risk - David Vaughan at Sunderland (maybe). Dorrans and Jerome Thomas from West Brom.

Kerim Frei on loan from Fulham could be great in the Championship

    thoughts?

Jamie Mackie is **** mate, I don't care at all about his geeing up of the crowd. He can't control the ball.

Villa rumoured to be bidding £4m for Gayle.

I'll take your word for it that the rest are hidden gems.

I won't be surprised if Harry does some loan deals just to get some new faces in and give him options. Everyone will be putting prices up when we come calling so it's gonna be wheeler-dealer time. Watford have loads of loanees through their Italian connection, that may be something we could follow...

We'd end up with Di Carmine and Matteo Alberti again.

We need youth and pace. Gayle will quite possibly go to a lower Prem side but would be a super start. I'd very much like to see a loan for Dan Burn at Fulham and bids for players with something to prove like Dean Furman, Forrester at Brentford etc. Even if they aren't quite up to it I just want to see 11 guys do their best for QPR and hurt a bit when they lose.

Agree with this. Loads of loanees then buy again if we succeed.

They were both dreadful. Di Carmine has scored 10 goals in 83 games in Serie B since leaving us and Alberti has been a free agent for 2 years*
