    Sorry but i wouldn't claim we are, they took 4 points off us, even though we performer less bad over the course of a full season I think we would need to beat them to say were top dogs for the season (although Sunderland wouldnt do this!! we have more class!)

    We finished above them in the prem... that's pretty conclusive to me that we are the top team in North East.

    I know it's never stopped them but celebrating the fact that we're slightly less mediocre than them isn't something I'll be doing....

    ....let them be happy with their 'best result in their history' which is basically beating a poor team that finished 16th out of 20...

    Most of the Sunderland fans are much the same as us, they've never seen a trophy but at least we can claim relative success via European football and top 5 finishes...

    Until they surpass what we have achieved they'll always be in our shadow just like Man Utd were with Liverpool.
