Looking to buy a new games console, had a xbox slim before but I don't like the fact you have to pay to use online services.

The question I am asking is what's better xbox or ps3? I'm thinking of buying fifa 13 with it so would like to know if there's much difference in graphics/online game play?

    thanks

I've had all the Xbox's and they've been emmence. PS4 network (Should you be looking to go online) is always crashing. Mate's always complaining about it.

I've got the Xbox 360 at the moment, and going to get the Xbox One.

If you are getting a PS3/360 now, then all things equal, you will be better off with a PS3. The PS3 is having a much better middle to end of its life-cycle than the 360.

You may have reasons for preferring a 360 (e.g. a lot of friends who play it), but if you are purely interested in games and the console, then it is the PS3 no question at this moment. Free online too (though you can get PS+ which for £30 for the year gives you free games every month, i've had the latest Hitman, Bioshock 2, Red Dead Redemption, Limbo, Infamous 2, LBP2 etc... and loads more for £30 if you are interested in that).

Nah, i'm joking about the N64 (Though it does have my all-time favorite game on it).

Of the 2 consoles you are looking at, i'd go for the 360.

Now the World Cup rounds are finished its the same on both platforms, depends what most your mates are on really. But buying an Xbox and so much xbl ends up costing more than a ps3 in the long run, something to think about.

And the psn doesn't always crash, it got hacked once which they've learned from and it won't happen again, could have happened to xbl. Biggest difference between the 2 is for those twats that play that **** cod game, Xbox live has its own servers so big games run smoothly on it, on play station it's about the only game where the devs don't have their own official servers (tight conning ****s they are who make cod) so the 24/32 player games can lag a bit.

Other than that the only difference is the exclusive games on each platform, gran turismo on plalystations and Forza on Xbox etc. and which of those you prefer.

Also Xbox live is full of faggot little kids and retarded yanks screechibg and blurting total **** through their headsets and putting them next to their stereos while they play **** music like Justin ****ing bieber. Worth keeping in mind. Play station community seems to be made up of more older generations and more mature as a whole.

And Xbox is easier to hack games online. Kids are always cheating on it.

XBOX for me, had both consoles, sold the PS3 as the online was simply rubbish and also I tried to buy something on PSN and had my card blocked. Microsofts evil empire isn't great but feeling safe when you use a service is a must for me, don't want to go to work, go use my cash card and find its been blocked due to some **** site, never happened to me with any other company.

Probably also worth thinking about which next-gen console you might want, because it will be easier to carry over.

Xbox One (or 'The America Box') has been largely panned so far.

I've seen all sorts of issues mentioned with it which is disappointing really, apparently though the pre-orders out number PS4 by four to one which makes you hope they might take criticism on board. I don't need Kinect for starters but one good thing is the LIVE subscription works for the new and old XBOX otherwise think I would just not bother anymore.

Kinect was **** and an absolute failure.

It might just be me, but the fact that the Kinect on the Xbox One is mandatory and has to be on all the time you play gives off a very 1984-esque vibe.

The Kinect on XBOne is quite scary. Always on, always listening even when the console is off - as well as watching to make sure too many people aren't watching a movie, and you don't leave the room during advertisements etc... The console has to be online once every 24hrs, and you have to pay to play games that have been used on another console (no sharing between family/friends).

Yeah, the Kinect thing is off-putting, guess I will have to Tippex the bloody thing out so it thinks its looking at a snowstorm. I have a feeling am going to stick with the old Xbox for a least another year seeing as the new GTA is coming out for these consoles. Would be tempted to give PS4 a go but wouldn't want to be in the same position again, wondering where the online had gone half the time and worrying about my card being blocked. I'm sure they would improve the online anyway for the PS4. One thing for sure I won't be wearing any bloody headset whatever I use. Can't think of anything worse than having to communicate with all the screaming kids all over the world. I guess I don't need one for the games I use (FIFA mainly and pinball games)

Xbox 360 all the way. Payment for online services is well worth it - at £30 a year it's hardly extortionate either. It's also better for communicating with your mates & probably most important for me is the controller.
I had a PS3 for about 6 months and I couldn't get used to the fiddly little things. It's for midgets or children.

Either that or I just have huge ape hands.

There isn't a lot between them in my opinion. But the biggest draw for me is the Xbox 360 Controller, it is truly a masterpiece in engineering, it should go down in history with the wheel.

I have a 360 and my old housemate had a ps3. Imo the 360 is far better and the online services are far superior. You don't want either tbh, you may as well wait a few months and get the new xbox

    Thanks guys.

I just went ahead and bought a xbox 360 slim 250gb second hand with a pinacle capture device so I can record (came with the bundle the guy was selling) fifa 13, the new 2013 golf game and various other games, control pad and a headset. 100 QUID! and it's immaculate, I had to travel from Hull to up on the wolds (12 mile outside of Driffield) but I believe i got an absolute bargain.

If you want to add me and give me a game on fifa 13 my addy is: dobbofc
