With the new seasons fixture list due out on the 19th, who do you want for starters? Will you want a top four club, or a lesser tough opener?

<cool> Me, I need a side that will make me feel that I have arrived in the big league at last, give me a big bugger, say Swansea City!

:bandit: Kemosabe, me want easy start, troubled time ahead, Manchester City!

I've gone for Manure. Get one of the big boys out of the way early. They tend to start slowly, and even if we lose it's a game we wouldn't expect anything from anyway.

i'd like to start off with the poor teams, if you start off playing the class teams you are in a relegation scrap from the first game to the last, but not a promoted team as they usually come flying out of the blocks <laugh>

I want a big team who we can potentially turn over if they aren't at it. So Arsenal, Liverpool rather than United or Man City

Is is me - or is anybody else looking at that list of teams and thinking.......... 'Bwggger me, we could lose every game next season'.
I want three points - somebody vote for Heath Park Hornets first (at home).

I can remember thinking the same when we first got promoted to the Championship.

The important thing is to win games among your peers. taking points from those at the bottom is more important than taking points off those at the top. Points from the latter should be seen as a bonus.

I would like Fulham away first game because it may be win-able -depending on signings. Also its not that far from me:grin: good way start in preparation for someone like man utd or liverpool at home the following wk.

Fulham is a good one, no problem getting a ticket for that one, and the IBIS hotel in Earls Court very close, could be a good excuse for a weekend up the smoke.

ISRMS-exactly! I think its a good game to see how the team sets out..see how we perform after the pre-season friendlies. I think its the definitely the type of game we could win. IMO Would be nice to start off the season away with at least a point and then home for the next.. Of course no disrespect to Fulham they have earned their right to have been in the premier this long so still no push over by any means but we have to be realists and this is one of few games away we should be looking to win or get something.

I remember seeing Man City as our first game (and we know what happened there!) and I was ****ting kittens. The following season I saw the new promotions all had something similar. I don't think it's random so I suspect the FA reward the newly promoted with one of the big boys so they feel like they've made the big time. Personally, I would rather have had Wigan or Villa, but watching us play against the team that ultimately went on to win the league was a great feeling (even when we lost).

Fulham away or home would be good.

Be good to have a trip up the M4 mind, easy ground to get to too.

Great to be in the prem, can't wait for the season to start.

Saturday's are boring at the mo!
