I would accept selling Cabaye to fund this, but we would then need a half decent midfielder too

Same. Siem de Jong would be a good Cabaye replacement, or Belhanda who is on the move apparently. If Cabaye were to go though I wouldn't be surprised if the powers that be considered Anita to be the replacement.

    Shola and Willo.[/QUOTE]

Seems there's quite a bit of interest in Shola.

I thought you were joking until I read the Journal. Pilkington is the sort of player we don't ****ing need. If we sign him, Bent and Tomkins and sell Cabaye and Ben Arfa we will be adrift by Christmas

    Jesus suffering ****

Too random a name to be joking! But he's pretty much a non event of a player. On top of that I have no time whatsoever for James Tomkins - I think West Ham are secretly sniggering that anyone could be interested at the prices they suggest - and even less for Darren Bent. That would symbolize about the worst possible Summer outcome...even without the inevitable player sales.

I still don't believe we're interested in any. Pilkington would make little sense, given our priorities, and we very rarely follow patterns established by the media - when was the last time we were linked with a player month on end then actually signed them? Players usually sign within an hour of GFN (we only buy from France) reporting it.

Bent and Tomkins I think/hope the media are doing the old Pardew knows them = must want them. Pilkington - the headline is great: "Magpies to miss out on Bony, but Pilkington is on radar"... Phew, that's alright then!

How many people would walk around with BENT on their tops?

    I wouldn't.

Apparently it's an 8m Euro fee being talked about - we'd be mad not to try for him if that is the price.

Especially if you put the number 1 underneath.
I think on the new home shirt I'll get Colo and on a change shirt I'll go for Albert.

Dortmund now in for PEA now apparently (well according to the fountain of wisdom that is talksport)

    http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...tle-and-tottenham-target-200573#ixzz2XW7ApUdE

Borussia Dortmund have placed a bid for Newcastle and Tottenham target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
According to reports in France, Champions League runners-up Dortmund have offered St Etienne £12m for their star striker, who hit 19 goals in 37 Ligue 1 outings last season.
But, although the deal does include performance-related add-ons, it is likely to fall well below St Etienne's asking price, thought to be in excess of £20m.
The 24-year-old is wanted by a long list of clubs across Europe, including the Premier League pair, but a move to Dortmund would appeal to him because it would mean the chance of Champions League football.
But it seems the Bundesliga club will have to boost their initial bid if they want to prize the Gabon international away from France.
