I think every media outlet has done the Higuain story to death by now.We're just going to have to sit back,put our feet up and see what happens

 

I suppose i'm being impatient. I can't wait for us to sign a world class striker and see what we can do. Since Henry (excluding RVPs season and a half), we haven't had a top striker for ages. I'm positive that it would make us feared once more in the Premiership and give everyone a big boast in the team. One thing is for sure, whoever comes in, would get plenty of service from our midfield and wide men.

I nearly choked on my tea reading that. Why on earth would we buy GB? Terrible signing.

 

Soo far this window we have

1. Had bids for Lars Bender and Grenier rejected.
2. Still not signed Higuain
3. Signed an young French striker on a free transfer.

Now we are being linked to Gareth Barry

Sigh.

 

We have £70m and we have rumours of bloomin Gareth Barry. You'd think the papers would be more creative and link us to more illustrious names!

 

I hope you are right but remember we did try and buy him back in 2009 - so there could be some truth in it.

 

I would quite literally cry if this became reality.

Seriously though, can we PLEASE make some transfers early. It would be nice if they had time to settle before the 1st games of the season.

 

I do not believe this Barry news, why on earth do we need a 32 y.o. flop on a mega salary??? If anythung this is a smoke screen to show prospective sellers that we have options and are not despetare in this position

Surely you aren't haggling over a few million. If true (IF) there will be riots at your first home game if this doesn't happen over a relatively small amount.

 

Sounds like we'll probably settle somewhere in the middle - around £22m-£23m

The Gareth Barry rumours are almost as bad as Harry Redknapp saying Spurs would win the league

 

God you work hard to shoehorn a dig at Spurs into so many of your comments. You potentially buying Barry is nothing to do with Spurs (apart from ending those scary rumours that we were interested )

 

But he seems soo much better suited to Tottenham.

 

Does anyone actually know wether Higuain is actually back from his Holiday yet? If not this could quite simply be the reason for the delay.

 

There was a rumour yesterday that he was playing for Argentina v Chile last night in China.Someone actually posted on Twitter the arrival times of China Airlines flights from Beijing into LGW.
