Apparently Real have thrown their wallet in the ring having made enquiries about the asking price for Fabregas. This is setting up to be an intriguing saga.

Fabregas' heart is set on returning to his native Barcelona. However, the comparatively cash-strapped Catalans won't seemingly offer more than £35m. Madrid and Citeh are both likely to offer a far higher amount. So what's going to happen? Will Fabregas expect us to let him fulfill his dream at a heavy financial price for us?

I think Madrid and Citeh's reported interest has strengthened our hand considerably and has boosted our chances of possibly even keeping him at the club. How do you see events unfolding?

    1) You make it sound as if Fabregas intentionally only played at 25%. Injuries hampered his season this year.

    2) Player power these days means we couldn't force him to go anywhere. Beckham, anyone.

    3) We should try our upmost to keep him.

it's tricky. Arsenal want the money, Barca don't want to pay. Barca are the only club Cesc wants to go to. If Madrid offer big money, should Arsenal turn it down? Or do they turn round to Cesc and say "we love you, but not for that much money." - which upsets the player even further. He's in a sticky situation. In that case, either Barca match the offer and he leaves, or they don't, and he's stuck with knowing that Arsenal know he has his price, or leaving to a club he doesn't want to go to, where he'll have to sign a 5 year deal.

    Sticky Cesc, real sticky!!

How dare you to show your face on Arsenal board after your claims about Vermaelen?

you don't seem overly popular Jay. i don't kno anything about this Wenger // Vermaelen fall out, and can't find anything online about it.

perhaps referring to people as "lemmings" and assuming your own superiority is getting peoples backs up?

ha! ok then mate. enjoy that feeling.

fyi tho, an assumption is "the act of taking for granted or supposing." and since you don't know anything about anyone on here really, you're making an assumption by claiming to be superior. just so you know.

firstly, superior knowledge does not make you smart. the two are mutually exclusive.

secondly, supposing you were smarter than 99% of people, this still leaves you dumber than 1%. and that's 1 in 100. there are at least several hundred, if not over a thousand, posters on these boards, making it highly unlikely that you are the smartest.

i've met plenty of people in my life, and sufficient to know that humility is a very endearing quality to possess, far more so than arrogance and the supposition of superiority.

However, you stated that it you are "not assuming" you are more intelligent despite not being 100% sure of it. Therefore, you are assuming thus contradicting yourself.

    This is fun, isn't it?

But an assumption is indeed "the act of taking for granted or supposing" and so therefore anything which is not certain is then likely to be an assumption. The word cannot be re-defined.

man i love internet arguments, they're so much more intellectual than arguments with real-world people. i'm glad all my friends are online, you guys are so much cooler than real people.

can we now draw a line under this?
it doesn't have to be a real line, or an absolute line, just a line. you can imagine it or actually draw it and your drawing may be right, or wrong, but i'm cold and there are wolves after me.
