Morning boys and in peace. <ok>

The word down here is that were going to get Ched Evans off you so have you heard any decent stories to back it up from reliable sources and also is he worth a punt? <ok>

only story I heard is that Ched was possibly a target for Leicester. Sven apparently rates him from his time at Man City.

He's underperformed for us, of that there's no doubt. We expected big things of him - seeing as he'd played for Man City although was mainly second string there but did have the odd game even at European level. Plus, he's a Welsh international, plus, plus, the figure quoted at the time was that he was costing us (up to) £3M.

He'd also banged in 15 goals for Norwich previously whilst on loan - and that was in their relegation season.

But, 3 years on, we've only seen flashes of what he can do.

He plays as a centre forward, or central striker to be more precise. But he's not particularly dominant in the air. He isn't lightning quick either. There are times in this past season when he's looked decent, put himself about a bit, and generally began to show a bit of promise. He's also been our leading scorer with 9 goals - that's despite him missing a lot of games - either through not being selected, or through injury or, most recently, some 'mystery' illness.

The best thing I can say about him is that he's got a good shot.

I've a feeling that, in a better team, he would be an asset. But he's played alongside all kinds of players at United and none of it seems to have worked out. He just doesn't seem to be in the areas that he needs to be when the ball comes in - and his first touch leaves a bit to be desired.

We desperately need to offload him because he's reputedly on high wages. Put it this way, I don't think we are going to miss him.

If you could get him without forking out too much dosh then, yes, he's worth a punt. It's just our luck that he'll turn out to be a worldbeater one day!

Yes He has been a Disappointment, among Others. Do think He Has got Better though. His Work Rate is First Class, when Fit. You do not want Cresswell Do you ?. Leicester rumoured a Offer of 1 Million, for Ched.

Ched Evans, yes please take him off our hands, he has no pace, no ability in the air, no left foot and no heart for a fight.

On the plus side he can kick the ball very hard in a straight line with his right foot, though not necessarily straight at the goal.

L1 is a great place to sort out your clubs problems. Don't begrudge, embrace it. New fans, different grounds, the chance to get back on track.
    Good luck.

He was superb at Norwich, as pointed out earlier in the thread and until last season I think we would have welcomed him back with open arms.
A bit different now as not sure if he really is a PL player.

All this about Mr 3 in a bed and then Millwall go and sign Hendo instead!

Millwall Steve - do you want us to tell you about Hendo now then? I'll start...

Big, strong, menace in the air, good at leading the line and holding the ball up for others, good at laying the ball off as well. A much better player than many Blades fans will give him credit for. Mainly because we've used him as a battering ram and kept lofting the ball to him - and that's ruined it for him and others.

Downsides are considerable though - Slow - he really has no pace at all, Poor Discipline record - he's always getting into a fracas - quite often he's the victim to be fair - but it's pushing and shoving all day long with him, Poor Fitness record - you'll be lucky if he plays half the games in a season due to injuries or just being unavailable as a result of disciplinary stuff.

Overall - I'd say he's a good acquisition for you - will fill the spot left by Morrison pretty well - but minus his pace and youth.
