Have to agree with Scullion's goal at Old Trafford. The Stretford End were in full voice and as soon as Scully's shot hit the back of the net they fell silent and to an eight year old the rest of the ground seem to turn black and gold.
What is often forgotten about the Sunderland game is tha we also hit the woodwork four times. I'm old enough to remember beating Grimsby 7-1. That seemed special at the time, especially as it was the first really big win I saw
I'd forgotten that Scunny game Ross. Mate of mine offered very generous odds to all aound him for a 5-1 win when we were 0-1 down. He was just laughed at.
There are so many 'best' moments at Watford. During the last few games of the 79 promotion year I had hepatitis which I'd picked up in the Sudan. I had so little energy I had to be driven to the Vic rather than walk and sit in the stand rather than stand on the terraces. I also reckoned I was the only person in the crowd whose eyes showed which team I supported - my eyes were yellow.
Not rough at all, Norway. Just another of life's little adventures. Fortunately, I've had no lasting problems apart from not being allowed to give blood. In any case, in NZ they don't accept British blood, so it doesn't really matter
Same in Oz - still frightened of Mad Pom Disease (or should that be Cow ). A couple of years after arriving in Scotland, I was asked to give blood - my unthinking, automatic response was "can't, lived in the UK in 1982". Got a few strange looks for that!
