Theo Walcott has only one thing going for him in the game and thats his pace. Without his pace he is absolutely awful. His first touch, technique, awareness and vision is extremely extremely poor. I actually really like the kid and want him to do well but there can be no masking of his very severe deficiencies within his game

    Walcott is a great player!

I think he should be in L'arse team every week.

Walcott should be improving by now but since his first ever game I haven't seen one jot of improvement. Still doesn't know what to do when he has the ball, and he's still botching up crosses. Him and Milner had no right starting the match based on their current form.

I think today was also the confirmation we needed that Lampard should no longer be a starter. Anonymous for the first 30 minutes and when he comes off for Young there's a far better tempo in the team.

Yeah because players with severe deficiencies often get hat-tricks for England away to Croatia, and regularly create chances for useless, talentless lumps like Bent to miss don't they?

Why do people so often sacrifice honesty and self respect for a chance to critisise a player just because he plays for a team they don't like?

The more he plays for England the more he's making that hat-trick look like a fluke. That's probably his only decent performance in an England shirt in how many appearances? Kieran Richardson scored 2 goals on his England debut but we all know he's not international quality from what we've seen afterwards.

Time and time again Walcott looks out of his depth. We need to forget that he has pace to burn because the rest of his game cancels that out and makes that quality pointless.

Said this in another thread but I'll have to say it again.
Theo is the youngest (apart from Albrighton) of the options we have on the wing. He has scored and assisted more than Downing, Lennon et al have this season. Capello says he picks on form and the stats point to Theo having a better season. Yes, he had an ineffective game last night but so did virtually EVERYBODY. We didn't control the midfield and nobody was even passing to him. Theo's game is all about getting behind defences, running off the ball and playing the offside trap. Not hugging the line and trying to dribble past a defender.

If Walcott was Spanish or Argentinian, he'd be twice the player he is.

And if Messi was English he'd be told to stay out wide left, beat his man and get crosses in.

Walcott should never start for England but should be on the bench to play the last 20 mins of match as his speed can catch the opposition by surprise.

WALCOTT IS NOT A WINGER. hopefully wenger reads this, and he'll start playing him in his proper position.
