And pretty much everyone who has played the next gen versions has said to not waste your money on the current gen ones, so it's not like it's a surprise that the ones out now are half baked.
Went to get my copy at midnight, played pretty much all night and I have to say it's pretty decent. Unfortunately however, it's still no where near as good as Fifa 10.
Ive religiously purchased Fifa if not at a midnight launch (sado i now) then the next day.... but.... this is the first time for years i havent bothered for the same 2 reasons mentioned already 1/ The focus has clearly been on the next gen version and watching videos on youtube etc show a massive difference due to the new capabilities and PS3 version being almost identica to Fifa 13 2/ Reviews from first hand experienced people that have played and advised not to buy PS3 version if you plan to get PS4 (despite companies offering good incentives to trade in) I have played the demo and this will do for the time being and because like many ive purchased GTA V i would rather play this for a few more weeks until the new release quite frankly. I am very impressed with the new features on the next gen version and the realism. In particular the crowds for once have been improved. I was a little dissapointed that St Marys wasnt included because we havea partnership with them and seeing Maya and other players on covers and game trailers i had high hopes.
I'm happy buying FIFA 14 because I have no plans, being a student n all, of buying a next gen console in the foreseeable future.
Next gen consoles are way off. The focus will always be on PS3 games until more people are prepared to buy PS4 games. Right now, the market is with PS3. Games makers don't care about promoting the next gen console, they just want to sell as many copies of their game as possible.
I disagree... if you look at the videos online and the specs for not only the console but the games themselves, you will see a very clear difference. Also the fact that companies are offering such good trade in deals for fifa ps3 version indicats they have an agreement with Sony/EA Sports or whoever to return a large number in anticipation Naturally it will take a little while for most people to get a PS4 but with xmas coming and then prices due to drop in the new year slightly it will be the market leader. Many many xbox users seem to be moving accross too.
This is as maybe, but I only bought my PS3 in 2010. I'm not rushing out to get a new console. I didn't own FIFA13 because it didn't seem like 45 quids worth of improvement over 12. I've played the demo for 14 though, and it seems excellent, I'm tempted to buy it. At the moment though, I don't have enough time to dedicate to GTA, as well as keeping on top of my Counter-Strike: Source pr0 skillz, so I'll just play it at mate's and pwn them all anyway.
A whole two months. Games companies, like any company, want their cake & eat it. So they love the fact they can spunk out games now on old formats, knowing that many will buy them again on the new formats.
The annoying aspect is that Fifa 14 should be what Fifa 13 is, yet I'm sure EA knew what they was doing, knowing they will possibly make a fortune from selling copies on both current gen and next gen, they know people get bored of Fifa after a year and want the shiney new version with all the latest players to use in seasons or UT, and from what i've seen Fifa 14 is actually a decent game and better then Fifa 13. However there is no denying the next gen looks like it will be something great, not just player movements but the graphics, realistic crowds etc, BUT and its a big BUT...is it worth me spending £450 on an xbox to play a game with better graphics? that I still haven't decided, as I have the cash set aside for the console but am tempted to wait a year and invest when the games have really pushed on.
My mates a games tester, he's tested both versions. Says everything about the next gen versions is better and that the FIFA14 for this gen is just a filler. But yeah I get why you wouldn't want to pay out for a new console so soon.
Only problem there buddy is I still need to buy their online pass and I hate the controller. I know ill end up blowing 600 quid on an Xbox and games, even with my moaning!
Controller for the PS4 is much better then the PS3. The control sticks and pads are much firmer etc for the PS4. I didn't like the PS3 controller but like the new one.
Playing on 360. Career Mode with Saints. Currently in February in 6th place an have just signed Rannochia (Inter Milan) 80 rated, for £6m plus Jos Hooiveld. Bargain. Had the first transfer window turned off. Hate the transfer network!!
I should have a test of a ps4 to see before I buy either way, thinking about this and FIFA, as UT is only Xbox and I hate UT, are there less high pressure ultra attack double abusers on PS versions?
I really like this FIFA. Yes corners and heading are a bit OP but it's so nice to not get destroyed by ridiculously fast players.
