I say let's give the fringe players opportunity to impress the gaffer and fight for their place in the first team. Rest the first team player for the next game, it's very important that we beat Hull because of the coming fixtures against the likes of Arsenal, City and Chelsea.

I remember the day so well because I had justed refurned from living in Africa for a few years and it was my first visit to St Marys and an old school friend got some VIP tickets for the match. Great day - I remember calling the wife after the game and I could hardly speak because I'd lost my voice from all the singing and chanting - not forgetting calling out my expert opinon on who should be doing what!!

Or, looking at it from our side, you can here Adam Blackmore's and Whispering Dave Merrington's completely neutral commentary on the Saints Player.

Should be a nice easy win and through to the next round to be knocked out by Chelsea.

Well that team was not quite what I was hoping for. <laugh>

Suppose it depends who Sunderland put out, should be good to watch Reed in action though.

Barely a first teamer in sight.. Well played Mauricio. No risks taken. Completely agree with his decision to be honest! Time for some of these players (Gaston) to prove their worth.

Their first team - great! Would be a big achievement for our lads to get through this one.

Good team nevertheless! Shows how far we've come in such a short space of time.
