He's quoted as saying he misses the champions league and said he'll give his all for us this season and then he'll see what happens.

He's really found his best form again this season and I'll be gutted to see him go. I wonder if we show ambition in January (doubtful) if he'd stick around (doubtful).

Hope when he does go we buy a proven playmaker.

He has one foot out of the door.
He will command a higher fee now which is some consolation.

If he doesn't want to play for us and his heart isn't in it, let him go and bring somebody in that does want to play for us.

Think he's playing for a move and no matter the outcome of our season he a gonner next summer.
Even if we qualified for the CL this season (hypothetically) he would leave, knowing Ashley still wouldn't spend any money to offer the chance of not getting spanked over 6 group games.
When do we sell though? Before or after the WC.

I'd wish him well, really would.
As long as he continues putting the effort I'll have no complaints.
    I just hope we reinvest.

He might be a big fish in a small pond here but at a Champions League club (1 expecting to get to the knock out stages every season) he probably be an average fish in a big pond (Full of sharks crocodiles piranhas and Sholas)

he'd be daft to move before the world cup. He's in the international squad at the minute and playing well. Not worth risking being unsettled in a new team and not getting picked for France.

He'll be here until the end of the season I reckon but is almost a certainty to leave then. He is playing very well right now. I'll miss him. We will need a ball player to replace him.

It'll be a summer move for him I would suspect. 28 in January, wants to leave, and will have 2 years to run on his contract. Ideal time from a selling clubs point of view. He can have a cracker of a season for us as he wants to ensure his place in the team for the world cup, and then the world cup to advertise his talents.

Always thought Cabaye would be off. He's a very, very good midfielder and Man Utd would be the perfect move for him. Imagine Cabaye with Rooney/RvP ahead of him, even the most anti-red would be interested in that. Arsenal's not a good fit for him, I don't think. Ozil's move has probably canned that anyway. He's not big enough for Man City or Chelsea, so the red devils would be priority one if I were him. Hard to see why he'd return to France - he left Lille where he was captain and playing CL football to be in a bigger league; if he's only interested in the green, fine, but I think he'll want to play at a big, big club.

I wouldn't mind, to be honest. I think Anita could do a very good job in his place, I think we all really like him (including you, Alan) and next year he'll be even more prepared. We'd need to reinvest, but as we'd easily be picking up £20m (if Cabs keeps his form up), we can take a couple. Gauld, just to shut Hacky up, and perhaps Jordan Mutch.
