I was there - how can Bruce not make every top 3?! He never lets anyone down, and those who call him miss the point a bit with the argument he is a limited player. He never hides, and always does his best in the same fashion as Macca wherever he is put in the team. Bruce Sagbo Davies Livermore put a shift in, in fact, all of them were fantastic. I could name the lot.
1. Everyone 2. Koren If I have have to choose, 1. Bruce (He had Suarez in his back pocket, which is an instant MOM imo.) 2. Davies 3. Livermore Really tough leaving out Sagbo and Meyler.
From the disloyal position of my armchair. Sagbo Davies Bruce Special mention to Elmo for getting some form back & David Meyler for sticking to his task, he didn't look out of place in the presence of some highly respected company.
In the first 30 minutes he did nothing but lose possession, partly because of his usual lack of ability to read the game and see where a pass is going, but also through a lack of application. He just wasn't up for it at all in that half hour. Bruce was going mental at him. Re Bruce I agree with tue consensus that he was excellent but I thought there were 3 performances that stood out to me more. It was Davies' standing tackles that made me pick him over Bruce while I picked Meyler and Sagbo because their good performances were what we've sorely needed. We've already got loads of good CBs!
Difficult to pick just three a great team performance, we out thought and and out fought them. 1 Bruce 2 Sagbo 3 Figgy Everyone played their part, well done to everyone and especially Steve Bruce.
So difficult to pick today but I think I'd go in no particular order: Figgy Bruce Thudd Livermore, Sagbo, Davies were all immense too. Elmo looked much improved when he went to right wing - pity he couldn't add the 4th right at the end.
Exactly this. He has come in from the cold and just had one the worlds best attackers in his pocket all afternoon. He was, today, the best defender on the pitch. He deserves credit for that, nobody else came close - he was that good.
If anyone seriously still wants to pick on poor Alex after another stormer, then they're sick! Mentally (and physically) sick.
Davies (awesome), Bruce (did he put a foot wrong?), Brady (great comeback), Elmo (very good, should have scored, 3,5,2 suits him), Livermore (tireless), Sagbo (got better as the game progressed, should have scored), Koren (played his part and showed some real class at times), McCormack (very solid), Boyd and Graham didn't have much time to show anything but Rosenior was fantastic - however my best three were - 1. Figueroa (his best game so far) 2. Meyler (mainly for his goal, but very solid) 3. Huddlestone (top game again). Also, the crowd was fantastic and I thought the ref had a pretty good game too.
I thought McCormack was great for us on May 4th but don't think he did too much today. Seriously I thought the ref was a tad on the **** side. Couldn't wait to book Brady and Davies but multiple similar offences by Liverpool players went unpunished.
1. Sagbo.........ran himself into the ground all day. 2. Figueroa.....Sterling, Moses and Suarez all failed to beat him today, superb. 3. Davies.....simply masterful defending. Special mention to Alex Bruce. Can't be easy being out of the side, but when you are needed you come in and do a job ...........against Liverpool. Well done Alex.
