As we're ALL in it together, I am comforted to know that they can no longer claim for tea & biscuits. They just want their cake & eat it, whilst denying us any tea & sympathy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-25287108
Good news but they should be paid much more. Anyone any good who isn't already a multi-millionaire will want to earn bigger bucks in industry leaving us with the failures and the toffs running the country.
Bad timing for a payr ise certainly, but if you don't want your MPs to be on the take, you have to pay em a decent salary. And those people who can only ever see the negatives about this country's system of government need to take a look at how countries are run outside of Europe, Australasia and the USA. Most of the world is utterly ****ed up and corrupt beyond belief, this is actually the good bit.
Sorry, another load of bollocks, most of the MPs are already minted and have other jobs, they already get a very good wage, they don't have to spend it on **** all because their expenses pay for everything, I want people to run this country to make it better for everyone, not just themselves, if they're in it just for the money, and a cushy life after politics then then they can go **** off. they're in it for the wrong reason, and don't give me that bollocks you've got to pay for the best, the best are those doing it for the country and all of its people. Basically all the ****ing lot of them are hypocritical, thieving, lying ****s. rant over
There's a lot of truth in this. I don't think the good ones are getting paid too much as if you do what you're supposed to do then it isn't the easiest job in the world (I'm not an MP but I do work with some and you camn always tell the ones that actually have the best interests of their constituents at heart). they don't need a pay rise in te current climate though. I agree that our lot are certainly better than some but can't agree you should pay them more to stop them being corrupt - you could equally say tesco should pay their employees more to make sure they don't nick the stock. For me the obvious solution is to have more public accountability and a set of defined objectives and standards so that if they really are completely bloody useless they can be removed during a parliament rather than ahve the poor sods in thir constituency wait 5 years ebfore they can do anything.
