Not looking too good for Mr Raincoat, Spurs taken apart today. Daniel Levy must be ruing the day he sacked Harry...
Great football from Liverpool today, inspired by Raheem Stirling! This tells us how far we have to go as a team. Hats off to Brendan Rodgers for the job he's done there, great workrate, superb skill. Spurs made to look 3rd rate
Liverpool looked superb. Henderson was out of this world & Sterling is back to his form at the start of last season. Oh, and the number 7 looks as if he can play just a little bit!
Liverpool not missing Gerrard much on today's evidence, Spurs were as poor as they were at Man City, the side seems spineless when they are under the cosh. Levy looked like thunder and that usually spells goodbye...
Despite their current table position, after this result, combined with the 6-0 humbling at Man City, the writing might just be on the wall for AVB? please log in to view this image Andre Villas-Boas Discards His Frank Spencer Raincoat New Spurs boss, Andre Villas-Boas, told journalists today that he's got rid of his favourite designer raincoat, on the advice of a sports psychologist. Boyish Boas revealed that top Chelsea FC shrink, Dr Fred Terry, has advised him that his tight fitting, belted macintosh sent out completely the wrong impression. âMr Terry told me I looked like an old TV football manager called Frank Spencer,â said Boas. A spokesman for Dr Terry later confirmed the advice. âImage is everything in football,â said a stunning Ukrainian blond receptionist in high heels and little else. âLook what the umbrella did for Steve McClaren: the long scarf for Roberto Mancini - Or the chewing gum for Alex Ferguson.â âOur patient Mr Boas visited the surgery last week. Along with his mother, Mrs Betty Boas,â she added. âI am only too happy to break our confidentiality code; and confirm that following a brief consultation as to what he looked like on match days, Mr Villas-Boas left his raincoat behind, with instructions to give it away to charity.â Will his duties include feeding the dog Harry left behind? http://newsbiscuit.com/forum/topic.php?id=44932
Keep your eyes on Sam Allardyce. West Ham can't afford a hint of relegation danger, they have a fortune to spend on converting the Olympic Stadium, which they will only be renting, and they can't score goals.
Sam will be gone as soon as the Pornbrokers have a good excuse to get shot of him. Spurs will probably go for another foreign coach, Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid would be a shrewd move...
I can't believe that he leaves out one of the most exciting players in England, Townsend. Criminal really.
Post match discussion suggested that AVB should have started the match with Townsend & Lennon on the wings and Defoe up front. Soldado was unlucky to have his goal chalked off after Simon Mignolet went walkabout and the sending off was perhaps a bit harsh as Suarez's boot was also high going in for that ball, which he made contact with, but by a split second it could have been the other way arround. Yeah, seemingly taking the mick out of the score line with Adebayor.... Could Adebayor be on his way to Loftus Road in January? And BAE on a permanent deal in the summer... Here's hoping!
Ex-Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has told talkSPORT that his former side must be patient with current boss Andre Villas-Boas, insisting that it’s too early to be calling for the coach’s head. Pressure is mounting on the Spurs chief after his side were hammered by Liverpool at home on Sunday, with a Luis Suarez's brace leading the Reds to a 5-0 victory. It was the north London outfit’s second heavy defeat in the space of three weeks following their 6-0 thumping at Man City. And despite still sitting just five points outside the Premier League top-four, their unconvincing performances - especially in front of goal - have put Villas-Boas’ long-term future at the club in doubt. Villas-Boas himself admitted that his future is not in his hands following the defeat, but Redknapp insists any criticism is premature and that Tottenham must stick with the young manager. “I think people are overreacting too quickly,” the former Spurs boss told The Press Pass. “You lose a couple of games now and you’re in trouble, it shouldn’t be like that. “You either think somebody is good at their job or not and when you appoint someone you should give them time and let them do the job. “I’m sure Villas-Boas will pull through it, if you give him time they will come back. “Whether they’ll make the Champions League places this season, I’m not sure, it’ll be very tight. “But it’s far too early for people to start wanting to pull the plug on him, you’ve got to give him time and see what he can do.” Redknapp added: “I really thought Tottenham would beat Liverpool, they had no Gerrard and no Sturridge, but Liverpool were just fantastic. “Tottenham had a few injuries in key positions but Liverpool were really excellent, their movement was great and they could have been four or five goals up at half-time. “They ripped Tottenham apart so many times and Suarez is just unplayable at the moment, they just need to get some consistency and they’ll be right up there this season. “Tottenham played well and came back after the Man City defeat, but it just wasn’t their day against Liverpool. They’ve just got to pick themselves up again now.” Read more at http://talksport.com/football/exclu...ists-redknapp-13121571960#7JffbR22Fd7B2EsM.99
“I think people are overreacting too quickly,” the former Spurs boss told The Press Pass. Quite right Harold, you should always take your time before you overreact.
Villas Boas (or Daniel Levy?) seems to have squandered all the Bale money in an orgy of spending for the sake of it. You can't just buy a brand new team and expect it to work. Just ask Mark Hughes
