Let's give this young lad some praise. Like I always say trust in your youth...

Two outstanding performances against Notts County and more recently against Peterborough. And let's be honest he is not going to get a much bigger test this season than a physically strong Posh side.

    Well done Jake.

Jake Hessenthaler was the best player on the pitch for me on Saturday, to be honest I feel bad for the guy because of his last name, people will stay skeptical of him for a while just because of what his dad did and think of him as another Charlie Stimson situation. I felt the same way about him until Saturday and he looked a class above, great to see the youth getting a chance, Peter Taylor seems to be adopting the 'if your good enough your old enough' which I hope continues for a long time!

What i like is neither Jake or Bradley panic when they have the ball at their feet & they have no fear about getting stuck in either (unlike others) They have obviously played alongside each other before & both read the game well. Stick with them i say

Entirely agree, Jake was my MOM on Saturday, was dissapointed to see him come off and i thought we looked weaker without him there.

I hope he stays in for the forseeable future, out of everyone i've seen play that holding role this year, Gregory, Hollands, Mousinho, Lee, Linganzi, Davies, Hewitt he has quite simply been the best and most cmposed in everything he has done.

Regardless of his age or surname, he deserves an extended run in the team. Well done Jake.

As another note, Bradley continues to impress me and we might be further up the league if more players had his heart and conviction not to ention ability. A midfielder who wants to and can score goals, is that not what we're all after?! Keep them both in the team PT.

Young Hessy - scared of nothing, not frightened to try things, fast to the ball - that was Saturday , lets hope the usual suspects don't start booing when he does have a poor game , or misses a goal.

Let's have him and Dack on team sheet first for a few games and show them how much they are valued

Young Hessy and Dack both showed lots of potential on Saturday. But lets not get carried away. Good as they were they did not look capable of dominating the opposition but that should come in time. i would play them regularly between now and May but they are likely to need some breaks and may not be best suited to two games in a week. So far so good and as oldsparky rightly says we need to be patient if they have the odd bad game.

I'm pretty sure that Jake Hess was on the books at Chelsea before Hess snr was appointed boss again. Hess snr then just picked him and moved him across to our youth team to work with Jake's uncle Darren Hare when he became boss. So Jake was decent enough in his on right before even joining us.

I would keep Jake Hessenthaler and Bradley Dack in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future, both players are clearly talented but they are going to need help and support from the experienced players around them and they are going to need the help and support from us supporters in the stands as well, that means not booing a mis-placed pass or booing when they make a mistake because they are going to make mistakes, if we support them when they are not having the greatest of games then these two will become great players for Gillingham.

I would also tie both players down to long term contracts so that no-one can sign these two on the cheap.
