    Or JTW for short.

It's fast approaching that time of the season when the transfer window reopens. With this in mind I thought I would ask you guys who you would like us to sign, realistic targets only please, and who you think will be sold (not that that ever happens) or otherwise moved on.

    So over to you.

Think we need a game changer. And this depends on funds and I can only see us getting some young loanee players. But in optimism, I would like players of the likes of jermain mcglashan. He could give us that spark that I believe were missing from Weston. Not really sure being realistic who I would like for the middle of the park because I just can't see us getting a well known player due to lack of money.

I don't want to see any transfers that are going to push our Youth players out on to the bench or out of the first team completely. But like MikeGills32 somebody that can replace Weston.

What do you think of a diamond midfield of -

    ---------Hess or signing/loan
    Whelps ---------Dack or signing/loan
    ---------Keds

with Cody & Bayo 'up top'?

If so, any 'signing/loan' spring to mind?

Not sure if this is realistic, possibly not but would love to see Josh Wright back in the Gills side, I know he mostly starts on the bench for Millwall... David Perkins is another I would like...

Nicky shorey had just left bristol city. Would be a massive signing with experience. Joe Martin has to improve.

I think that players either to be offered for loan or not having loans extended will be Hollands and Daniels. I think Fagan will be kept til the end of the season, and I think German , Linganzi and maybe Charlie Lee offered for loan. I wouldn't be surprised to see Davies sent on loan, either. Peter Taylor (nor did Martin Allen) doesn't seem to rate him , and to be honest, Callum didn't do himself any favours with just sticking his leg out to an attempted clearance yesterday, and diverting the ball to a Walsall player who then scored.
Mind you, that was no worse than Joe Martin who missed his clearance for their first goal, but then joe's not playing for his place.

I'd quite like to see Davide Somma come in on a short term deal very similar to the one Fagan is on. Could do a similar job to Rowan Vine did and just bring a touch of class up front. Also it could just give us another option in this hectic schedule. Loanees from premier league/ big championship teams is the only real action I think we will do to have a few kids till the end of the season. Would not be too surprised to see Mousinho or Hollands signing on a permanent deal (most likely Hollands) which would be a very nice little bit of business. However I still think we are in a position where someone has to leave for someone else to join. Hope Peter Taylor can work some magic and get a few deals done.

I think we may loan German out to a non league side like Barnet.I think Hollands may go back to Charlton.I would like to see us extend Harriman`s loan, and maybe sign Mousinho on a permanent deal.If there was money to buy someone then Keanu Marsh Brown from Barnet would be a great signing,he is a quick winger that scores goals.

Would be interested to see some more of Mousinho if that is possible. Also what about Anton Robinson as I am sure he should be getting back to full fitness now and I think he was a good player last season.

I think our main priority is at the back as the centre backs are not good enough, I think we need two new centre backs and then we can have Davies and Legge as back up. I don't think Barrett is good enough at this level sadly, although he done really well last season we can't keep him just because of that. Also lately I have not been happy with Martin (Other than that great free kick). I feel that he has been very poor defensively but I am not sure who else we could bring in.

I would like to see a couple of young players come in and maybe someone with experience as I think we need 3 or 4 new players and also need to extend the loan of Harriman. I think 2 centre backs and a winger as well as a good attacking midfielder would do.
I would not extend the loans of Hollands or Daniels (Haven't really seen enough of Daniels). I am not sure what I would do with Fagan as he was good when he come in but then he got injured and since he has come back he hasn't really been that good in the last two games.

One thing that I think is important is that any players that we bring in don't push out the younger players such as Hessenthaler and Dack as they have been very good so far this season. I think these are the types of players that we should be building a team around as they are very good young players who need to be given long terms contracts quickly as I really rate them highly. Jake has been top class since he has come into the team and he does all the basics so well, I don't think he has got enough praise as he makes our midfield so much stronger. I think some people forget how young he is as he plays so well some people probably don't think about how he has only just come into the team because if you didn't know how long he had been playing you would have thought he had been in the team for a while as he just fits in so well. I would rather have Hessenthaler in midfield than Charlie Lee so that is how highly I rate him as I was a big fan of Whelpdale and Lee but I don't think they are the same now and I think their time at the club is coming to an end.

I think it would be best to let German, Birchall, Lee and Barrett go. Also I think Charlie Allen will go. I would keep Whelpdale until the end of the season as I think it would be best to have him there as he is a good player but still he is not the same as he used to be.

Good news on Hewitt. Would like to see Mousinho back too.

Wouldnt mind a quick/tricky winger. Someone in the Jermaine McGlashan mould. Have also heard we may currently have a young Belgian player the club are looking at. The initials on his Tracksuit are OP, no further info I'm afraid. Can't see Daniels staying

Not got as much free time on my hands these days.

I think it is very good if Hewitt is back. Not going to get too excited until it is on the official page however last night Hewitt wished Bradley Dack happy birthday and Dack's reply was something along the lines of 'when are you back'?
Now this don't fully confirm that he is coming back to Gillingham but it did seem like Dack meant when are you coming back to Gillingham and Hewitt replied with something like soon just getting fit.
I think it was something like this and to add to all this Hewitt then deleted the tweets so I think that may confirm that he is coming back very soon.

Where have you seen something about a young Belgian player?
Would be good if true as it seems that they are producing some good young players these days, would be nice to have a decent one at the club.

Why has no-one mentioned the obvious fact that we need to strengthen our extremely poor defence.

    Goals scored - 32 (joint 11th)

    Goals against - 42 (joint 23rd)

Quite simple really, whoever we play we seem to be able to score, particularly at home but our defence is just terrible. Barrett and Legge are one paced and allow strikers to continuously get the wrong side of them, every time the opposition breaks we look like we'll concede so at least 1 new centre half is a must, with Davies back in if it was upto me (his fault against Walsall was minimal compared to Barrett and Legge throughout the season)

Would also love to see Mousinho back, but by no means replacing Hess and Dack in the team, we do need a squad though, at the moment we can't handle all the games, showed by what we had to put on against Orient.

Anyway gota jump in the car up to the Boro now, let's start 2014 with a decent result!

I'm sure PT is working on improving the defence. As you say, we need at least one centre back and a left back to challenge Joe Martin. Its only the first day of the transfer window, so I expect those type of players to come in during the next week or so,plus,we need short term cover for Kedwell whilst he has his op.
