    1. No, it's because the EU is worth billions to Britain in terms of deals and employment. Do you think a party like the Tories would support the EU if they didn;t think it benefitted Britain?

    2. We take a hardline on lots of things such as drugs but it doesn't stop people from doing it. Would you really be willing to sign a bit of paper to send a woman and child back to. say, the Congo to be raped and killed?

    3. Then send them back out into the street where they head back to where they live in areas full of drug dealers and junkies.

    4. Spending thousands on make-up is not really Marxism, is it?

    7. We'll see.

    8. We live in a country where the the biggest party got little more than a third of the votes and it's coalition partner finished third. We spend billions on arms while cutting back people's pensions. Most of the countries of the world are undemocratic and unethical. Whether we like it or not, business is business and we have to do deals with them.

If we had a Scottish style election process at Westminster I might give you my 2nd vote.

Not bad. I could vote for roughly 20% of it. This figure rises slightly - to 25%, say - on the back of your clarifications and expansions (to Stereotypist). Considering that I would only vote for roughly 10% of the ideas that float through my own head, this feels like progress.

With a fairly clear conscience, I could certainly serve as Minister for Agriculture under your new regime. I'll start falsifying my CV and get it sent to your office.

You've been reading the Daily Mail again haven't you.

If you don't give addicts alternative highs they will start robbing your house again. We need to break the link between dealers and drugs or else the problem will never be solved.

I agree, get rid of the BBC

Democracy is not always better. If you make Judges have to partake in election campaigns surely you distracting them from their primary function of dishing out the law, and not only that you are leaving them open to populist decisions which will gain them votes, rather than the correct and right decisions. A horrendous idea.

Argicultural marxism, a more marxist idea than the existence of the BBC. The free market decides the prices and as Maggie Thatcher taught us a complacent market is hugely inefficient. As long as there is sufficient competition among retailers then the push towards lower prices and greater efficiency in society is a great thing. Farmers may struggle at first but they will develop better ways of producing more at lower costs, with machinery etc - and it will free up man power to go on to build other things in society. The relentless push towards efficiency is the cornerstone of civilization and ultimately higher standards of living for everyone.

    Wars, maybe.

Billions in aid to other countries is bad? If you don't help these countries get on their feet then watch how immigration rockets. Poor British people do get billions, it's called benefits - and most of the Daily Mail mob are against these too. No benefits, yet give the aid to poor British people? hmmmm

I really don't see what all the problem with the BBC is...

Surely the hatred is just fuelled by Murdoch propaganda?

Suicide among farmers is one of the highest amongst any occupations.

The free market has done **** all for agriculture but make a smaller number of farmers exceedingly rich while pushing farming towards US-prairie style land management. Your idea of a so-called "push towards efficiency" has led to huge environmental damage including habitat loss and a decrease in diversity. It's also led to an increase in unemployment in rural areas leading to higher crime, drunkeness, drug taking, unruly behaviour etc. It also means that young people cannot afford property leading to a breakdown in families and local communities.

Still, that's the free market for you <ok>

mick, i worked in a pharmacy for a number of years. giving out methadone and all the other alternatives costs us approx £500mill a year, surely that could be used for rehabilitation instead of just enabling their drug use?

as for agriculture, we wont have any farmers left at the rate we are going. how can we be ok with a system that lets farmers sell their produce without even breaking even?? the price of fuel is exacerbating the issue. the only trade that makes a real profit for the farmers in the uk is wheat and barley (malting) and special seeds, like rape.

Let the small farmers grow poppies and then sell the paste at one of their merry markets alongside their bottles of rape-seed honey and fruit scones, everybodys happy.
